Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I know its a slight quibble but talking about the unconstitutionality of the war on iran is just kinda wierd. Its closer to debatable than the policy to have ice ignore half the bill of rights where any debate on it not happening is pure undiluted bull trump.

I sure would love to see those smug grins wiped off his face, his apparatchiks and, most of all, his family.

All of these people live in such a bubble and so far have faced zero consequences their entire lives.

Or he doesn't care because hes going to rig the midterms.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 day ago

He's definitely trying. It's not clear yet how much he'll succeed. The Shiv America Act looks like it's a dead duck in the Senate. There will still be state-level fuckery in some states, and legal actions venue-shopped to his favorite corrupt judges such as Cannon. But the Republicans' polling is so bad that they might get their asses handed to them anyway.

Do we even know if Trump can see??? He's said he can't read without his glasses. But he also just cannot read, so I dunno

[–] borkborkbork@piefed.social 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

pretty sure he's never read any book except mein kampf.

[–] Blumpkinhead@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

The audiobook version.

He totally read that upside down bible that one time

[–] borkborkbork@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

it really illustrates his base: the people who claim to love the bible but ignore it's most basic tenants vote for a pedo who has obviously, plainly, never read it, never understood any of it - he's a stupid grifter and those fucking morons believe him.

He's just. Like. Them. 🤮

I don't know if I've ever seen him with glasses. God is he a conceited asshole. IF you can't read without glasses and you're the President I feel like you should always have glasses on you because you know important documents could be handed to you at anytime.

God is he a conceited asshole.

Yet his hair looks like a cheap toupee, he's a lumpy, fat slob with a body like a sack full of chisels, his posture is like the ass end of a centaur, he inexpertly applies bronzer to his face, his suits don't fit and he doesn't know how to wear a tie.

Hard to imagine anyone seeing that train wreck and not concluding there's something the matter with his head.

Trump and reality don't live in the same zip code.

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

They way Trump sees it, he has 3 years left on a guaranteed contract and a built-in audience large enough to generate huge, ill-gotten profits.

The way I see it: We can use civil forfeiture laws and go after all that money, down the road. Treat the bastard like the criminal carnival barker he is.

I'm ok with this, we are doing great at avoiding him, no matter what abuses he throws out easy to try and get a reaction from us
