cleaning
Vacuumed and sprayed Glen 20 over his path again. Either this works or Iβve really screwed myself over and have bigger problems. I should have bought those plastic carpet runners but didnβt expect to do this. Wondering how effective carpet cleaner machines are against anything infectiousβ¦ I used to have a carpet steamer I got rid of but that wouldnβt get hot enough. Damn carpet.
I havenβt begun trying to apply the cream to him because I havenβt had a chance to inspect him with the lamp. I seriously need a longer extension cord.
fretting
Iβm unnecessarily stressing myself out when already in a bad state and am so not ready for another pet. He wonβt accept being an inside kitty. Itβs also costing money.
But when someone suggested it might be time to trap him in the house and call the rescue contact to take him and try and find him a foster placement I felt so bad about sending him away. Didnβt want to make and live with that decision. At least letting him check out the house makes it easier to trap him if he needs medical treatment or his outdoor situation is no longer working and he needs to be adopted. Situation still in limbo. Iβm torn.
Waiting on a Halo brand scanner to see if that will pick up a microchip. Itβs still budget but a more reliable brand. I should have spent the extra money to get it from the site that sells to vetsβ¦ Fingers crossed ebay doesnβt send a counterfeit.
mourning
Iβm still thinking of Melbcat a lot. I spent most of today just struggling emotionally and sleeping. Iβm in a bad way. Thinking about how she died towards the end of summer so she got to soak up those last sun rays at the window. She loved summer. But now I donβt get the extra affectionate winter cuddles. Itβs so strange to not be spooned then gradually pushed out of bed.
The house feels empty without her and extra bare with the cleaning Iβve done. Had to do. Everything looks different and it feels like itβs wiping away our old life together.
We were so bonded it feels like Iβd had her forever and then she was gone in a blink of an eye. I havenβt even begun to deal with it. I feel like my grieving process is being rushed so it may just be mostly suppressed for later.

Had big plans for a big spring clean but have spent most of the weekend crashed. Keep falling asleep. Finally made it out for a walk and some groceries. Just how it is I guess. Have managed to restart a book I put down months ago and binge some slow horses so ...that's a win yeah?

The last time I used those I wrecked my back playing Wii golf and couldn't move for two weeks. Never again.

They're controllers for the nintendo Wii. Haven't been used in well over a decade and still work :) It's for the game night coming up.

Watched the Gatsby ballet last night. It was good, there were scenes and moments from the book that could be given more time through dance than what you get on the page. I've deliberately kept away from a lot of adaptations of it because I feel a lot of them miss the funny moments in the book, you could almost switch it up and make it a comedy if you wanted to, but it's seen as this 'big and important' book that people overlook the jokes. The Great Gatsby could almost be done like Peepshow set in the 1920s.
But dance isn't the medium for that, they did a very good job running through the main scenes in the form they did
and followed by a Tait Set of old carriages

12 Monkeys with Terry Gilliam
awesome movie so when I found a special edition dvd I snapped it up
I loved how Gilliam described how so much of the design was done on the fly, they filmed in a disused power station and they created sets and scenes around the giant building and machinery
he describes how much the actors created their characters
he's very gracious
Vic Public Transport to be free for the month of April
It's the right thing to do, hopefully my already too busy and under-serviced line won't be too much worse.
Bring a can of deodorant and be prepared to use it on someone.
it really can be bad sometimes
I wish I could use this. Work is only 3 stations away just going off suburb names but my station is too far away to walk to and work is at the other end of the suburb. There's a bus to my station but nothing to work, and it would be such a hassle to get the bike on there. I might try it once this week since it's free to compare for time though
this is awesome πIt makes travelling to get bargains worthwhile
plus I've only got 4.5 weeks of train disruption left π

I'm so happy transport is free for the month! How about more transport in more places to meet the demand?
I miss Japan transport. But that's a country with over 100 million people. I just hate how car dependent we are. Not as bad as the US but still.

Maybe harden up a little, but you don't want to lose touch with your emotions and just be a robot person. Loss is part of life, you're going through regular life stuff and sometimes that hurts.
I donβt know how
You get up everyday and spend 10 minutes outside without over thinking anything. When you're ready you have a cuppa and write down some of your tasks for day. Then you slowly start and if you need to cry you cry but the important thing is you keep moving. No need to over think the things that need to be done. No need to go hard.
