This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

Oh yes... The good old blood vial farming PTSD just returned.
Ever since I first played Sekiro I've been "joking" that one of my bucket list life goals is to plat every one of Miyazaki's games and then jump him at a convention. I want dearly to kick his ass but I also want it to be absolutely clear that it's not because I can't beat his games, it's because I did beat them.

The lesson here is that hoarding items won’t help you when you’re dead. Miyazaki wins again.
Farm some blood echoes, buy 100s of vials. Never worry about it ever again. Not hard. And. You get between 20 and 27 vials on your at any time.
Eh, michael zaki is just teaching us about being self reliant and not needing to use performance enhancing drugs.
Not a contradiction. It ain't no risk if you cannot lose something. And just losing your life is trivial risk as it is too binary. The attrition communicates hardship better than respawning and trying again considering the very low portion of people willing to play hardcore and lose it all.
This is a non-replenishable item, so you have to be careful in combat...
...until you get to Hemwick Charnel Lane and can just farm blood echoes for 10 minutes and then buy an endless supply of these from the doll.
Yeah, but you can also heal without using any items just by hitting back
