Hi all, I was using "image generator professional" and it stopped working... when i tried to submit a comment i got the message 'VPN banned due to spam disable ur VPN' but I'm not on a VPN and I wasn't spamming. What can I do? Is there a way to remedy this?

(Thanks for your help)

you may be looking for !perchance@lemmy.world.

you being able to create this post here indicates that you wouldn't be blocked from commenting on lemmy.world, so this is not an issue related to this website.

Are you asking about something Lemmy-related or the image generator thing? Where were you unable to comment?

I'm going to make a lot of assumptions here:

  • that image generator thing posts directly to lemmy (otherwise why would it be relevant to mention?)
  • that image generator thing posts from whatever IP address (and thus country) it's running in, most likely a different one than yours)
  • you added a comment soon after posting the image, from your own app/browser, and thus your IP address

Lemmy (or specifically .world?) saw this as you posting twice in rapid succession from two different locations, which it associates with vpn spambots, and voila?

this is not a native Lemmy feature nor have we implemented anything like that on our own currently.
