You'll be able to download Euro-Office's 1.0 release from the project's public GitHub repositories

Yeah, pretty ironic that they still use a Microsoft product for a "sovereignty-focused" alternative to Microsoft.

What a joke... typical corpos. I think it's worth pretending to be pro-EU now because that's where the money is now, but as soon as that changes, they'll change course too.

Why not just adopt and support LibreOffice?

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 3 points 5 hours ago

its just for online collaboration and as some point out low power devices. Im with you though. I generally just do office things on my computer and that does not need to be online. Heck I don't even do all that much office stuff nowadays.

What's the difference between this and libreoffice?

[–] Dojan@pawb.social 2 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Entirely different codebase. Euro-office is a rebranded fork of the Russian developed ONLYOFFICE.

[–] FallenWalnut@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

EuroOffice/OnlyOffice is considered to have a cleaner/easier user interface, while LibreOffice is a more comprehensive and mature product.

News debuts on windowscentral.com.

Something like this should at least have been mentioned on national media. Haven't seen a thing. Maybe it's because of the name. I'd like to be enthousiastic about this, but I can't.

"Biggest euro tech players" are who?
