Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

The author of the report is married to a Labour friends of Israel member who has previously broken rules by not declaring a witness is her own husband. https://www.declassifieduk.org/mp-broke-rules-at-maccabi-hearing-by-not-declaring-husband/

Jewish staff are the only religious group in the NHS workforce who report that they are experiencing growing discrimination by colleagues, the latest staff survey found. Some have been so distressed by their experience that they are considering quitting the service.

Doubt..

Other groups are experiencing the same amount as always. So technically the claim only the Jewish staff experiencing more can be true.

So regular levels of discrimination are fine and don’t deserve to be investigated? Racism and Islamophobia are all good but antisemitism is where they draw the line?

No, but it does allow for printing a misleading headline that is technically true.

[–] Bassman27@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I don’t even think it’s technically true. The BIMA penned a letter to politicians late last year raising the issue of a rise in Islamophobia in the medical field and nothing has come of it (https://britishima.org/bima-writes-to-government-and-nhs-leaders-on-addressing-islamophobia-and-inequality/). Racists still target Muslims on a daily basis. Wes streeting is known to be funded by the labour friends of Isreal lobbying group. It’s not hard to see why he’s so concerned about antisemitism and not the religious group that have been targeted for years.

The only reason antisemitism is on the rise is because of the action of Isreal.

Huh, didn't think racists would be able to identify most Muslims tbh.

Pretty much, so they would also end up targeting a bunch of non Muslims.
