Farage begins his argument with a truth, which is that white working-class boys are failing in Britain’s schools.

Farage won't fix it, all he cares about is scoring cheap political points. The problem is nobody else will even pretend to care about it, especially not on the left.

Not really true if you read the article

Note that the analysis is based on figures from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). Figures published by the UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) are based on a slightly different categorisation for hybrid cars.

All hybrids run entirely on petrol or diesel fuel, while also carrying a small battery and an electric motor. ACEA counts these cars separately to petrol and diesel models.

In contrast, the SMMT counts what it calls “mild” hybrids as petrol cars, while listing “full” hybrids – such as Toyota’s Prius – in a separate category.

The ACEA data shows that hybrids are the most popular type of car in the UK, as illustrated in the figure below, but also shows that their sales are relatively stagnant.

Hybrids, with the exception of PHEV, are still petrol cars IMO.

Not entirely, a lot of the required curves are for pedestrians. Anything curved has less internal volume.

A lot is extra safety features. It would be illegal to sell the original mini today.

Ublock origin has the option to block all media over a certain size and JavaScript. The browser will never request the files so it will be faster (as long as it isn't inline scripts)

I disagree about Starmer getting things done, but you're right about Boris.

If someone told you they were a massive fan of Boris, you might think they are wrong, but you wouldn't be surprised.

If someone told you they are a massive fan of Starmer, you'd think they are a bit weird.

Brown probably, but he didn't have much time to screw anything up.

Petition closes on 10 December 2026.

Previously, the NHS Service Standard held that “public services are built with public money, so unless there's a good reason not to, the code they're based on should be made available for other people to reuse and build on.” This is what the current policy should be reverted to.

NHS England has issued guidance, called SDLC-8, which requires that all source code repositories be private from the 11th of May, 2026, unless there is an exceptional need, approved by the Engineering Board.

The Free Software Foundation Europe have warned that open repositories allow security researchers to inspect and report vulnerabilities, and that de-publishing code does nothing to prevent attackers from analysing already-deployed systems, binaries, or previously copied source code.
