Loss of circadian rhythm is a major symptom of Alzheimer’s and dementia. The dementia ward in retirement homes is usually a 24/7 thing because the residents are always waking up and sleeping at odd hours.
And sleeping with eyes half-open is another sign of disordered circadian rhythms, most likely caused by dementia.
