General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I thought things would get better under Labour, but the last 2 years have been by far the worst I’ve ever experienced for NHS service. The waiting times seem to have gone up and getting through to a person is virtually impossible.

Good! If it’s not urgent why are they clogging up A&E?

If you live anywhere near me then your GP will not see you. There's no way to legitimately book a regular appointment and you are given the advice to call 111 or go to A&E. They have an "online" system where you take photos of whatever's ailing you and someone will call you. When I tried that a couple of years ago, the app didn't work. My impression is that older and elderly people are deiberately given more access to NHS services (but that could be just my perception).

Because it's the GPs go to answer when they can't be arsed to deal with you.
