Comments on that article are funny. Idk people jump to defending a company almost on instinct. No its not a risk to dump the database, just remove the data you dont need to share and anonymise whats left this is like a days worth of work assuming its a sql database. Also the comment that says migrating is hard if its a different data structure no the fuck it aint i’ve done many migrations like this its not hard to map a to b its likely they just didnt care to spend the pittance doing it.
