Does he have an actual official Mastodon account? Or is someone just re-posting what he posts elsewhere?

That's his account.
Out of curiosity, when you created a post, did you just paste in lemmy the link to the mastodon post? Or is there some other fedi magic happening? It's really neat that it auto-embeds the video!
I just pasted the link, everything else was automatic.
neat!
Worth it looking at the PM's words for context:
I think that, you know, the number one risk. I answered this question three years ago or so at Davos. And I was asked what’s the number one risk in the global economy? And I said Iran and it was at a time when people were not focused on Iran because I’ve always believed that it’s the biggest exporter of terror. It was hell-bent, sorry if I can say that on getting a nuclear weapon, uh, and the force multiplier on that. Of course was terrible. And so going and getting to a position where Iran is not going to have a nuclear weapon. Look, I’m not naive about this, the reintegration of Iran. This is a regime that needs to learn to be civilized, needs to behave. That’s why you have performance measures. Lots needs to happen. We all have to support it, but moving to this position where that’s been taken off the table was worth it.
Avi's being soft on him.
That's weird, as someone living in the West, I've never felt threatened by Iran in any real way.
But then it looks like this war failed to achieve it's objective and thus can not be considered "worth it"? Even worse it created a precedent for another economic weapon, namely blocking the Hormuz strait. Nuclear is not of the table, at least to my knowledge.
"... biggest exporter of terror." Oh, look at that, a Canadian PM constructing self defense as aggression, how novel. I wonder what happens if we look at why Iran funds terrorist groups outside of its borders and who those terrorist groups fight.
It's not even worth looking that far, the US is the biggest exporter of terror.
What exactly did you think my comment referred to if not the US?
My comment was just that the comment from the PM was so big of a lie that it's not even worth addressing.
The PM just needs to make a public apology and correct himself.
Maybe you should take a lesson.
Carney is the most unappealing parts of Hillary Clinton.
Ouch
Is this meant to be a misogyny joke? Like, the appealing parts of Hillary Clinton are that she's a woman? Or are you saying that he's a bloodthirsty Neolib like her but we get far fewer memes out of him?
The latter.
Oh good, it's always tough to be gracious with people on here.

This could work as a meme, but I don't think we'll ever get Carney to give a Pokemon Go soundclip on camera.
For israel
Brookfield made bank, didn't you?
Maybe worth it to let the U.S. reduce its influence on the world. And maybe for showing enough Americans that Trump and co are actually incompetent.
You know that's not what Carney means he's been clear he believes Iran needs to be bombed to "civilize" it.
Yes, I know what he means, sadly. But did he actually say that (to civilize)? I mean maybe it's true, as does the southern U.S.; but actually killing peoples over ideology is always immoral.
Unironically asking: reduce Iran's or USA's influence?
In this case the U.S.
