Most people know TCL as a TV brand. After spending time inside TCL's factories and attending the Global Partners Conference 2026 in China, I discovered something far bigger.

TCL isn't simply a company that sells televisions, air conditioners, and appliances. It has quietly become one of the most important technology manufacturers on the planet. Through its display division, CSOT, TCL now produces display panels used across the industry, operates some of the world's largest manufacturing facilities, and is investing billions into next-generation technologies that could reshape the future of screens.

I fucking hate my TCL TV, worse performance than a 11 yo smartphone, and despite being able to install any streaming service it can only actually run Netflix and Youtube, anything else a plethora of weird problems appear. Absolute garbage.

Using it as a screen via hdmi cable works fine no problem.

1 device from 1 user doesn't constitute the whole brand being bad. I have several TCL TVs ranging from 43" FHD to 85" mini QLED and my current phone, which honestly beats out my old LG and Samsung devices.

They're not flashy, I don't see many ads, I don't see big displays or showcases at Best Buy it other retailers... They've let the quality and the features per dollar speak for themselves, hence how they've rapidly built their brand from a US intro in 2014.

I've fought LG on a TV repair and fridge (3x), Samsung on my washer, and each time is been like pulling teeth. My TCL 85" was affected by a surge after an accident blowing out the transformer. I called worried about any sort of help, and after troubleshooting and working with an onsite tech (no ext warranty mind you) they refunded me for a replacement since it couldn't be fixed. That was $2,100 refunded with probably weeks left in my 1year..

I've been certainly happy with the tech, but probably more happy with the support. OK also paranoid and block the smart features and they still function just fine, too.
