MODERATORS

Edit - so far, people aren't really answering my question, but they seem to be trying to suggest the downvotes made sense, while offering no better explanation for how than maybe everyone suddenly got triggered by the flags in my username. Fuck you if you support Israelis btw

Edit 2 - improved precision of language by changing "bot brained people" to "Nazis" after someone tried to make this about the flags in my username

It's very obvious I'm targeted with botted downvotes on reddit and piefed, but of course a lot of people are also just Nazi morons.

I'm curious what people here think of this particular example from the comments on my last post here.

They upvote someone giving me an irrelevant link while pretending it's relevant, but they downvote the shit out of me explaining why it's not relevant. For context, the discussion was about a shell script I was trying to develop to store data in the corner of a video using QR codes.

Here's the github link they posted.

The original thread is removed now, so this link to see more of the context won't work. I also can't copy and paste from the original post to provide more context, because unlike reddit, piefed doesn't let me see my own posts after they've been removed.

The post did last a few days before being removed, and not a single one of the people downvoting me (or upvoting that guy) ever replied to explain whatever half a percent of a thought process their clicks were based on, so I felt like making this follow-up post to invite discussion again.

One of the mods/admins here also harassed me with gaslighty DMs (continuing after I told them to stop) and temporarily banned me, they are now blocked. (That post was also the first place I posted the shitty early version of the code in this project, so removing it is pretty fucked up since it makes it harder for me to prove when I first posted it if any liars try to dispute that later.) I'm looking forward to being permanently banned so that I'm permanently done dealing with you people here, but in the mean time, I'm curious about any responses to this.

"Do you think I'm being downvoted by bots or Nazis? It couldn't possibly be because I'm annoying as fuck!"

[–] Kwdg@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I don't thibk your post is on topic for this community. But even if it would be, without knowing the original post no one can tell why the votes are like this, though honestly I doubt you are specifically targeted by bots (excwpt you have a realllly good reason to believe so).

As for you QR code idea, this should be relativly easy with tools like qrencode and ffmpeg

Same. Off-topic, some bots could downvote, and the overuse of flags/emojis in the name could trigger people. Anything is possible.

Edit: OP is very impolite in this thread, which could have been another reason for the moderation issue in the deleted post.

Ah my client doesn't even show the emojis

If this thread is anything to go on, people are down voting you because you come across as an insufferable asshole.

conflating my replies for abrasive people with me being abrasive

also:

conflating my replies for abrasive people with my reply for someone that posted an off-topic link under possibly good intentions

When I tell you you come across as an insufferable asshole, I'm not lying like you are when you say it to me

Btw, I notice how you're incredibly obvious about your connection to the other user that just made a similar comment - that's on purpose, surely, meant to be noticed right? Another layer of the gaslighting, being incredibly obvious about fucked up harassment behaviors but knowing you can deny them while Nazi herd mentality will also deny the obviousness

Based on THIS comment, it appears you are not mentally well. I hope you get help and find peace.

You made a weird and snarky response to someone posting an encoding tool acting like it's just a proof of concept and not a working app despite the app being there for you to actually download and try, and are now wondering if you're being downvoted by Nazis and not because you're an insufferable dingus. 🙄

Your worth is not determined by abstract internet points.

Sometimes people won't get your message/point and downvote your contributions. The reason might be you not doing a good job at communicating (in my experience, it's usually is that) or it might be them misunderstanding or you might not fit the community you are contributing to (eg. if your political view is not generally accepted in a community).

Don't worry about one of your posts/comments occasionally getting downvoted.

If your contributions get downvoted consinsently (which seems to be the case from what you write? I don't really are enough to go look at your account's history), consider if continuing as you are is of any benefit to you and/or the community and if it's still worth your time.

In case, try seeing if it's a style/tone/manners/respect thing that you maybe want to improve on or if it's just not worth it and it's better to go somewhere else or stop entirely.

There is no law saying we must fit every community (I left communities and even an entire Lemmy instance for that).

Also, this discussion is entirely OT since it has nothing to do with programming, and I am reporting it as such. If it's downvoted or ends up being taken down (I hope so), it's not because of some conspiracy against you.

Has anyone agreed with your premise yet, or are they all still secretly conspiring to make you look like a paranoid weirdo?

[–] UlrikHD@programming.dev 0 points 6 days ago

This is the wrong community for these kind of posts, if you have issues you want to discuss regarding this instance, please use !meta@programming.dev. As for your complaint about DMs from our admin team, I would recommend you to send any complaints about admin behaviour as explained on our legal site

On a different note, you have been given multiple warnings for your use of slurs, which have no place on an instance about programming. You will be given a second (and final) temporary ban of 14 days, any repeated offences will result in a permanent ban on our instance.

Is there a gangstalking community on the fediverse yet?

[–] iloveDigit@piefed.social 1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

If so, is it run by gangstalkers like the one on reddit?

Kinda strange topic to try to make online discussion hubs for, except on nostr
