No GDP alternative will ever have any legs because any formula that takes average buying power, health, and/or quality of life into account would place the English speaking countries and the US near the bottom of the list. Can’t have that

It doesn’t require the consent of English speaking countries. Come up with an alternative formula that is reasonable and more informative; people will start using it more over time. It isn’t a light switch, and it doesn’t need to be, either.

Ah, I see you’re unfamiliar with the long, long, history of proposed and shot down reasonable and informative alternatives. Well I’m not gonna argue socioeconomics with you, so I hope you look into the many times this has been tried already and failed. I’ll try point you to some books about it when I get off work
