Worth mentioning that the Eagle has 11 stars signifying the 11 confederate states, so it's even more on the nose than you'd think.

There's no way that's why πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

Right?

I can't think of anything else 11 could symbolize that ties in to USian history. Certainly other people on the internet are confident that's the reason.

β€œI swear, we’re just really really really really obsessed with Roman aesthetics. Pay no attention to the fasces literally everywhere”

After googling that, it seems we were using that symbol long before "fascism" had a name. So while I am in favor of ditching it. I'm personally more pissed off about the "IN GOD WE TRUST" sign.

Even before fascism as we know it today existed, this would still technical be a fascist symbol, because that bundle of stick is literally called "fasces". Fasces-ism, fascism. But technicalities aside, it's not a great symbol anyway, originally representing nothing more or less than beheadings and a rule of terror through fear.

Yeah, I get it. But I would wager a lot of the people who work in that room have no idea about any of that. (Unless they have some sort of orientation explaining it or something.)

I'm all for getting rid of that symbol. Its just a lower priority to me than removing "IN GOD WE TRUST" from everything.

I understand but hear me out: *porque-no-los-dos.jpg*

Also, these speeches are watched by millions, it's enough if some of them understand the fascist dog whistle to spread the ideology, strengthen their resolve and unite them. As a dog whistle, it's meant to be inconspicuous to those not in the know.

Wow I really just don't be paying attention

The "Great Seal of the United States" with the eagle is from 1782, it's been in use as the "Seal of the president of the United States" since at least 1877, tho I'm not sure about this version of the eagle with wide open wings.

The nazis started using their version of the Bundeswappen in 1935.

The White House was built between 1792 and 1800.

Pretty clear that the laser straight wings in this latest iteration are, A, on purpose, and B, hearkening to the Nazi symbology
