For a little pre-event discussion and to give some inspiration for peoples designs for this event, what was your favorite design that was made in previous iterations of the event?
Theres some atlases for the 2024 and 2025 editions of the event you can look at to see what people made

The little waldo I managed to sneak into the 2024 one at the last minute
All the small, unplanned shenanigans (like Stu), especially if it's reacting to other stuff. I honestly don't understand the appeal of the huge templates and doing the same flags and logos and symbols and ponies every year. Bring back anarchy.

I enjoy what the void did in both 2024 and 2025 with them making a little void pocket and then having things within it that match. Adds some nice variety to the canvas since the rest is mostly built on a white background or lighter colors
How are people so coordinated with these? And artistic
pixel art is decently popular so people have experience with the type of art
the site has a templates feature where you can plan out a design and then share where you want it to go with other people which is used for most of the larger ones. And then since the cooldown is 30 seconds and you can stack up to 6 pixels at once to place down its easy for different people to add little details to populate areas
Honestly it’s pretty fun to place little Stu’s everywhere lol
All the tiny details make it feel so alive
2024: that Furret sleeping around the Poké Ball.
2025: the pink pony at the right.
I was super proud of the Nine Inch Nails logo I spearheaded in 2023, and the multiple Aphex Twin and other IDM logos others committed to. That Carpenter Brut/Discordian knot thing from last year is pretty sick too.
I like the very long trans flag.
I have to say the purple/pink MLP on the right is really pretty good

I liked the lil NATO flag and jets. I also enjoyed hiding tiny Ukrainian flags on the edges of huge designs where a few pixels were unattended.
