As long as it's destroyed, I don't mind what Zuckerberg intended.
That would actually be cool of him.
I think he's just incompetent at running such a large company. He got lucky with Facebook, and that success masked his incompetence. Now that the landscape is shifting, his incompetence is becoming apparent. He dove head-first into the so-called metaverse and even renamed his company for it. That was a bad bet. Now he's followed the rest of the idiots into AI, and isn't handling it as well as them. Doesn't matter, the whole thing will come crashing down. Apple is the only major tech company that held back and that's looking like the right move, now.
It will be interesting to see who is left standing in a couple of years. Well Meta shrink back to only Facebook, or will the damage be too great and the whole company dissolves. With Mark at the helm, I'm betting the latter.
Facebook/meta was very early in the "AI" space. They built lots of tools and models being widely used right now. Just look at their popular github repos, faiss, SAM, vision transformers, visual embeddings, core ML libraries, all very essential components of many ML systems.
Saying facebook "just" dove into AI is wrong, facebook has been there from the early days along with Google (and probably some more) in building the very foundations these stupid LLMs "thrive" on
It's insecurity. He correctly understands that Facebook, and all social media is vapid, low tech bullshit. He badly wants to be seen as a visionary and an innovator and a tech ubermensch. Not just some dude who caught lightning in a jar with a slightly polished, pervy version of Myspace.
funny thing recently an article came out about how all these tech billionaires, zuck, thiel, altman, google is keeping thier children away from the brainrot, and making sure they get monteserri schooling away from the tech. they wont touch thier own poison. its like the mcdonalds ceo that wont eat thier own product.
He dove head-first into the so-called metaverse and even renamed his company for it.
Not quite. He changed the name because "Facebook" was in the news too often with privacy controversies and he thought the name change would distance his company from that reputation. Seems it worked.
Seems it worked.
How? who thinks “Meta“ is ok on privacy today?
Well, also because they bought Instagram and stuff
Fingers crossed
I dont think he's ever looked more like Beaker.
he is a humanoid android that knows BJJ.
You take that back. Beaker is a better man by far!
Fuck meta, but the quest 3 is my favourite product I've ever bought
Is it possible to jailbreak it?
I'm not sure, you are able to install whatever apks you like
Doesn't it require Facebook login? I think that's what some people would need a jailbreak for (and the reason I'd never buy one)
I think you need to create a horizon account maybe, but that's whatever, just make another email
You may be able to use it without an account, i'll check. Either way, it's the best value headset on the market
