Well, of course that data is in the "cloud" of a capitalist company willing to sell access to it to anyone... But that doesn't mean I am okay with you being that anyone!

Ooohh cool. Non-intrusive load monitoring. I did my bachelor’s thesis on that. Pretty interesting field

[-] noerdman@feddit.de 14 points 10 months ago

Uuuuh, nice, what did you find out?

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 18 points 10 months ago

Haha. That person monitors loads.

I wipe them off because I didn’t go to school.

Thanks for sharing SatansMaggotyCumFart

What did you just call me?

I was investigating if these algorithms could be used in an embedded environment. Basically I implemented a load monitor on a raspberry pi using a pretty basic machine learning algorithm and checked performance. Performance wise it worked out pretty well but the accuracy was pretty bad on real world data. Like 50%. Of you’re interested in how it works I can give some more info.

vacuums and coffee machines.

Yeah. those are the, uh, devices, I'm most concerned people knowing I use...

You have a wall power dildo or something?

[-] Ruthalas@infosec.pub 13 points 10 months ago

The Hitachi Magic Wand is one of the most well known vibrators out there. And it's powered straight from mains voltage.

[-] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

Goddamn, does it require that much juice?

[-] Alteon@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Well, the lights dim when I turn it on, and it sounds like I'm powering up a blaster in Star Wars, so you tell me...oh, wait....that's not a Hitachi Wand. Nevermind.

[-] HiddenLychee@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Mix it up for the immersion blender again?

[-] Alteon@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

You ever gotten off with an quantum flux capacitor before? Let me tell you...it'll change your reality.

Also, it's not a sex toy. I mean, people use it as one but it wasn't interested for that

[-] m4xie@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago

My wife finds it so funny when I use it for it's "advertised purpose" on my neck and shoulders.

[-] RubberElectrons@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Mine too 😂

Both a "wireless" (battery-powered), and wired version exist. The wired version is unsurprisingly the original design.

Yeah, but mentioning the playstation and the meme homeserver right away felt a little too cheap.

It’s more the kitchen appliances that I use aren’t the ones people bought as gifts… seriously that combined air fryer/pressure cooker/five-other-cooker-things is… annoying.

(I just have an instapot+slow cooker, immersion blender+blender+food processor that I have to hide from certain family, the absence of the “all in ones” would start a fight.)
