I think what happened is that's the sound the person made when they saw it coming out with their friend next to them laughing their ass off and calling it like that after
Reminds me of a joke in Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner's 2000-Year-Old Man. He says most words are onomatopoeic. He gives 'egg' as an example. It's the sound of strain and relief a chicken makes when it lays one... eeeeeeeeeeegg! (It's much funnier if you hear Mel Brooks' delivery obviously.)
