here's the thing: everyone complains about late capitalism and how alienated and isolated we all are. everyone acknowledges this, and reassures each other of this, alone.

you need to get out of yourself, and your head, and your small bubble of one, and you need to go see old friends, or former friends, or people in your social circle who are just meh, or your annoying roommates, or your co-workers, or your former co-workers, or your lame family members, or your lame and bigoted family members, or strangers at a bar, or whomever, and party. meeting people is praxis, strengthening relationships is praxis, making yourself seen and vulnerable to another is praxis. please, guys, go out.

this, here, now, is a facsimile, mediated through a thousand screens. go kiss, go get kissed, go reject a kiss, go be denied a kiss. go out.

You can go outside without spreading covid. Its actually harder to catch outdoors than in, since the ventilation is so much better.
You could meet people even in the height of the pandemic, as long as they were within your bubble. You can meet people as long as you're responsible.

Damn, we would have had the revolution but too many people had went out and created solidarity smdh.

This is kind-of an individualist way of looking at the problem, I think, and a bit too simplistic...

[–] FumpyAer@hexbear.net 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's certainly not the only solution required, but it could improve your life.

[–] Pluto@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago (6 children)

Oh for sure, I just felt that it was presented as too simplistic and doesn't apply to everyone, imho

You can go outside without spreading covid. You can meet people without spreading covid, as long as you and the person you're meeting is responsible about it.

Soz but capitalism has alienated me all the way, as if having freakishly weird and niche interests plus being queer plus being autistic plus having incredibly bad social skills wasn't bad enough, coming to this website has actually destroyed my brain.

Seeing the world for what it is and having a leftist understanding of anything at all has been highly destructive. Understanding is cool but the intake of this knowledge has been a net negative for me. When people complain about their bosses or jobs, it flips the Big Communism Builder switch in my brain and I just cannot fucking stop. It's probably tism related as well, but in general I am no longer useful to talk to.

Consideration: is this website a bit? Is it set up for unknowning fuckers like myself to come along and take everything way too seriously, internalise a new worldview, and only be able to talk on hexbear anymore? Is this fedposting ? Was this the end goal? I have alienated the few people I know the rest of the way by flavouring my social ineptitude with rambling leftist rants, and it's starting to feel like I'm the victim of a cruel joke.

Someone pls tell me if this site is a bit.

yea it's a bit, sorry

Got ya good tho

This fuckin webzone has me hook line and sinker, literally used queer/trans awareness & acceptance as handy bait to turn me into the world's most ineffective commie. Fucking masterful play by the feds, really what leftist stands a chance against this kind of cyberwarfare?

A few weeks ago I took the train and there was a guy on there (like 18 years or so old) who just pretended to be a ticket inspector and just generally joking around with people. I kinda feel we need more of that energy in general. I wish I could have that kind of energy more often (and without needing to have a beer or two beforehand).

On the other side of this when I took a train home for Christmas a week ago there was a guy in the same compartment who started talking with everybody and was clearly a total chud talking about no-go-zones and basically every reactionary talkingpoint you could think of

There is nobody to see, nowhere to go out, and nobody who wants to kiss me.
