"The Party said that Oceania had never been in alliance with Eurasia. He, Winston Smith, knew that Oceania had been in alliance with Eurasia as short a time as four years ago. But where did that knowledge exist?"

I theorize that this is the leading cause of "gap" between generations. Adults who are emotionally inept always say "it doesn't hurt that bad," "heartbreaks heal," "you'll get over this issue you are facing," "you'll forget all about this," or something similar. Those kids are going through something that they haven't ever experienced, and that hurts or is scary.

Adults have the experience to understand that things can change, but frequently lack the wisdom to empathize with the "new" factor for the kid.

Wow. That is garbage.

Thank you for finding and sharing that, no matter how disheartening it is.

Remove their tax-exempt status. The distinct separation of church and state should prevent this murderous group of sycophants from tax-free status.

Did Jesus ever say a single word about LGBTQIA+ issues ever?

Morgan Freeman voice: He didn't.

For example, I know someone on lemmy who was viewing this sublemmy, didn't do anything, got banned, and was so upset he actually died.

I smell BS.

  1. Didn't do anything, but got banned? Possible, but improbable.

  2. Got so upset by a ban on Lemmy that the person died? So close to impossible that I would call it impossible.

Isnt he guilty of a bit north of 3 and a half dozen felonies?

Sit back, relax, and enjoy myself.

Hello archers! I learned the very basics of archery in my early youth on a very basic fiberglass youth bow. While still very young, I picked up a second hand compound bow.

Somewhere along the lines, life got in the way, and I dropped the sport. In my middle years, I am trying to pick up the sport again. I see posts here about Olympic Recurve and Barebow shooting.

I know that I can simply google or YouTube a quick answer, but I wanted to start a discussion here about the differences between bows and their uses.

For instance, I inherited my stepfather's wooden recurve hunting bow. I have always known that "style" to be a recurve. What makes an Olympic recurve bow different?

This song resonates with me.
