Yeahhhh. It's frustrating that it exists. Obvious bias to a comical extreme. Some fun (frustrating?) articles are about evolution, Barracks Houssein Obama (yes they have the middle name emphasized), and atheism

That's probably something Conservapodia would publish not ironically

I had a friend who is gay and supported Mitt Romney back in the day. He campaigned against gays. Obama won and legalized same-sex marriage. She is now married to her wife. Reminds me of her

I'm pretty stoked this came up in my feed today. I was actually one of the players in that campaign! We played in a small, virtual group during Covid. I sent this thread to Garlic~

The coffee shops weren't a big part of the campaign, but it was definitely a recurring theme. He did a great job world-building and there were backstory elements he added in for us. I did miss the Starbucks reference until it came up and I echo the collective groan we had. There were other puns and fun adventures we had in the campaign.

I love Rimworld and play it a lot. I frequently see posts and articles comparing the two. I got Dwarf Fortress, watched tutorials, printed out flow charts, and really gave it a try for several hours.

But I didn't get into Dwarf Fortress :( some of the mechanics are weird. Many things are not intuitive or don't make sense. Like seeds that are needed for growing mushrooms are defaulted to be used in cooking and the setting to turn that off is difficult to find.

I finally realized an analogy today. Rimworld is like The Sims while Dwarf Fortress is like Sim City. Rimworld you directly control people and micromanage a colony. Dwarf Fortress is Sim City - you zone things and say generally what you want to happen, but don't control your meeples directly.

Thoughts on the comparison? Any other folks like Rimworld but not Dwarf Fortress?

This is the first step to having magnetic wheels become a thing. We know canonically Jim Kirk's motorcycle uses these, so it's definitely mainstream by ~2250.

Honorable mention: the Bell Riots happen September this year, and it seems we're on track for those too

My favorite part about the aftermath of this is that Convicted Felon Trump won't be able to vote for himself in the election 🥰

That's fair. It's the double-edged sword of internet stardom. To me it's about remembering a simpler time then the world was less of a mess than it is today.

It sure would be a shame if you bought new, identical Joy-Con controllers, found they didn't have drift, and returned the old drifty ones by accident.

5/28 Ninja Edit: today I learned is a form on Nintendo's website where you can fill out a repair request form. I thought the US had been excluded https://repair.nintendo.com/cc/soConsumer.html?lang=en&sys=SWTCH&type=JOY-CON

You know when you're at a park, see a dog, feel something squish under your foot, and then pick up your fooh to look at it? Yeah, exactly like that but in human form
