Its precisely because the monarchies and their wealth were never fully destroyed in these countries.

These royals have a lot of power in their local economies because in a lot of cases they still own a ton of estates and land (not to mention investments, connections and as you said institutions).

It is in the interest of the local bourgeois to at least support the continued existence of the royal family as that gives them potential access to these resources.

The royals also create a shitton of propaganda, so some people see them as a needed part of the countries culture or some historical artifact in need of maintaining. A "living monument" or something like that.

I hope I can finally stop hearing about now, I'm tired of hearing about an old man making old man mistakes.

I'm not really interested in the whole American election carnival tbh... (yes I know that it will impact things on an international level, still it just floods every fucking feed I see online )

Not gonna lie, watching the Americans slowly making their country collapse is entertaining. Tho I feel for the comrades and friends who will be put in dire straights because of it. Here in Europe there has (maybe? my bubble is pretty small) been a slow realization in the liberals that relying on America is kinda a shitty idea in the long term. How much do you guys think that America will change its geopolitics when trump takes over?

I haven't really been (actively) following American domestic politics the last few years, its too much of a drama fest.
