I agree with your sentiment, that's what they should be, but time and time again we saw that it is not how they are used, downvotes mostly serve to mark disagreement , doesn't matter that you provide interesting discussion, if people disagree then the comment gets downvotes to oblivion. And the platform turns into an echo chamber where only one opinion can ever exist.
Open source ? Does that mean I can host my own ? Would it be compatible with other self hosted instance ?
EDIT: the only source code I found hasn't been maintained for 3 years.
I don't think he does, too busy meeting up with a real girl
Can you guys stop talking about your ex ? You're with lemmy now, forget about the old bitch.
Here is my opinion: Slide should have images, diagrams or charts to illustrate what I say, almost never any text. What I say is written in advance in the notes of the presentation that is only visible to me while presenting, but will be readable by anyone who look at the file afterwards. I prepare the duration and delivery of the speech at least three times in full before presenting.
For anyone like me outside the US wondering what the fuck is GoogleFi : It's a Virtual mobile network provider, using wifi and other provider's network.
Hope I saved you a search.
For me living in france, these prices seems outrageous. For the record I pay 13€/months and got pretty much unlimited everything (130 GiB data is more than I'll ever use in a single months on my phone)
Yes there is, you could press it and put in a cocktail !
Seriously though you can very legaly copy the bios from your own officially bought switch, copy your legaly bought cartridge, and use them to play the emulator. All of which is legal, just like you could buy spare parts and build your own switch, and copy the bios from a legaly bought one. I'm not going to pretend people do that, but it is possible to use it in a legal manner.
In my country, the week starts on monday
I'm currently living through my most stessful week of my life: About a year and a half ago, I bought a plot of land with the project of building a home there, inflation and loan rate kicked in, so I thought "alright let's wait a bit see when it stabilizes", this week I learned my plot is planned to be removed from the "buildable" area. If I don't put a building permit to the city council before this is voted my land will basically see it's value divided by 20 and I won't be able to build a house there, I put 6 years of savings into this project.. all because my gov decided that they didn't want this area to be urbanised anymore.
I have trouble sleeping and working I can't think of anything else, I also lost my appetite.
Although I agree with what everyone is saying "that it make sense to compensate workers for the commute in time and money", I'd like to nuance a little, because I think it is a bit more complicated from a moral standpoint: Imagine employer were paying for your commute and you were on the clock during it, what happen when you move to another appartment/house further from work ? Should the employer continue to pay and clock your longer commute ? It seems weird that my decision to move to another part of the city would affect my employer. The consequence would be that employer will mandate that you cannot move without their appoval or that their cost for your commute is fixed in the contract and need to be renegociable. In the end what it boils down to is not that commute should be paid for and part of the work day. What people want is better salaries and smaller hours. Then the commute doesn't matter anymore, and stays at the expense of the worker who can therefore move wherever they want.
