7/29 is TACO Tuesday!

Had a smoke detector going off randomly one night and I pulled it down only to have mama crawl all over my hand as the babies were running around like maniacs, some casting off. Mama still had a bunch on her when I got the smoke detector outside.

Sorry to hear that it's also a bad thing.

Hopefully it was also bringing ultra right wing nationalist types from other countries and not drawing exclusively from Croatia.

I do enjoy the irony of idolizing a puppet regime though. Strange that people want even their government leaders to be boot lickers of others again.

At least it will be a reminder to talk to the kid about the dangers of the past I guess?

... It will be in the past, right? Please say it will.

I started off with fan grills and led fans and cold cathode lighting way back when.

Now, my gaming PC, which is about due for its 5 yr update again, is in an old antec sonata case from 2008ish. I'll probably splurge on a new one next round, but if it's fancy, it will be one of those unassuming fractal cases with wood.

No lights if I can help it.

If you read the article or regulation, you'll note that there are some ways to get around this by dividing the battery into cells.

Also, that is a fucking hilarious "phone."

Effectively. Transportation safety with exemptions made for batteries under 20Wh.

It's Nvidia that that jumps out in your question.

They are ~~/were~~ notorious for lackluster support on Linux and sleep/wake issues are ~~/were~~ significant.

IIRC you still need to configure a few bits to get it to work properly (maybe just a systems service enable?).

... And it looks like it's still a constant issue.

Anti-clickbait title: the US federal regulation limiting cell phone battery capacity.

If you want to skip the click through: 20Wh maximum

There's a couple options from before the ps2 standard, but I'd guess it's a 5-pin DIN connector on an AT keyboard (e.g. IBM model M). You'll need to know more about the keyboard to make a determination, but you might get lucky with a passive adapter to PS2 and chain to USB. Before the ps2 standard, there was more variety between manufacturers in both signaling and connectors.

There are so many dumb regulations and circumstances that functionally push people to giant vehicles.

For instance: I replaced my 2016 VW golf base model with an electric F150 this year for a multitude of reasons. I got a refund from insurance (with the same coverage). None of this makes sense except that I'm less likely to be injured by other motorists in my 3.5ton truck. I found this depressing.

Anyone else spending their weekend with the Sonoma action?

I've been jumping between the feeds for all the races/qualifying today. The Toyota GR Cup was particularly fun to watch. The new McLaren series seems like it could shape up pretty well too!

Got the uppers painted and installed.

Time to find some MDF for the face frame, drawer fronts, and shelves. Which reminds me, I need a router bit for the integrated drawer pulls she wants.

My first project is really coming together!

Built a set of drawers cabinets to my wife's specs for the closet. Still have uppers, face frame and overlay fronts to do, but the garage was too full to keep going.

4ft (122cm) tall bank of drawers with full extension soft close undermount slides. 88in.(222cm) wide.

Feel free to make fun of the 2x4 toe kick! Rest assured I've learned my lesson.

All cuts made with my portable DeWalt table saw after breaking down sheets with my Ryobi circular saw and a harbor freight clamp as an edge guide.

I applied some paste wax to the table saw and was pleasantly surprised that it made a difference.

I think I'll have to use this on the wood runners on the old dresser I have too.

In case you're concerned, it's just a little DeWalt contractor's table saw. No sawstop or powermatic here. That's for the cool guys on youtube.
