It's pretty funny that the day isn't an official public holiday in Denmark, because May day is kind of celebrated here, but it's mostly just various useless liberals making speeches in a big park in Copenhagen and in Aarhus, while every student in either city is busy getting drunk off their ass. Most "adults" just work like it's a normal day, but a couple of big unions also like to protest the useless liberals (SocDems and their associates) right before they fall back in line and support the SocDems unequivocally.

To add to your last paragraph, you shouldn't underestimate just how much the current crop of republican reps. derive their power from being near Trump. Like, obviously the house reps are all ghouls, but it seems like a solid chunk of them now just consider themselves Trumpists primarily, and anything going against trump is considered political suicide to such an extent that nobody wants to go first.
Most countries did try to prevent the plague slightly more than the US did. The "shutdown" was probably more about schools being closed for a few weeks/months and young men getting turned insane by youtube propaganda / anti-woke grifters.
You don't even need to revoke the entire law. Just pass a resolution saying that the crisis that Trump uses as a legal basis is over (or that he made it up), which should theoretically dissolve his legal ability to enforce the tariffs. Of course, this is speaking from a lawyer POV, which trump has shown the correct amount of respect for until now (none).
I live within walking distance of my job (litterally 200 meters, so takes me almost as long to walk to the building as it takes me to walk to my chair from the entrance) and I've still had to talk to my boss about management's idiotic decision to start clamping down on WFH, despite my department suffering massively from people quitting (down like 4 people this year, and total headcount is now less than 20, closer to 15)
Judges who are picked by the Federalist Society also don't tend to be big fans of the various government agencies, even if they are cop-adjacent
Like half of Britain didn't even want to look at a German until the mid 1960s out of pure anger over WWII
"The division in Israel is not related to the Palestinians" is the primary reason why global majority fucking hates your (Israel's) guts. What the fuck is a left-wing member of the Knesset even doing anyway, aside from getting yelled at by the supremacist party of the week.
Didn't they already try that the last time the fucker was president???
I seem to remember Trump just declaring things a national emergency (like with drug-smuggling across the border with either Canada or Mexico), and Congress having less than zero authority to ever challenge the tariffs after that. Like, Donald Trump definitely declared Canadian lumber a national security threat, and when Trudeau questioned Trump about Canada being a threat, Trump replied with "didn't you guys burn down the White House"
I assume that he was writing a massive thinkpiece with lots of graphs, then saw the announcements and had to delete it all. Though I look forward to reading his piece when he decides to post again.
Yeah, it's gonna fucking turbocharge the fascism that is already inbuilt
Genuinely the most cringe person currently alive. It would be funny if he wasn't currently in Government and actively trying to kill every person in the US whom I actually like.
