Honestly though, in a lot of cases even if its possible to recycle it.. if some shmuck isn't poised to profit off it noone will do it. Maybe I am just a doomer, but it hurts knowing that we have the tools to make such a better world.. And instead we've built this special little hell in our corner of the universe

I agree, it takes a lot of copium to believe that all of this "phasing out by 2050" shit itsnt straight pandering. Its like a smoker with lung cancer saying they'll quit in a few years. We are hopelessly addicted to our lifestyles that depend on fossil fuels. The only one thats ultimately going to shift our society is mother nature when she eradicates us through famine, extreme weather and chaos

My friend there's no shot. We couldn't even unify against covid 19. Enjoy what you have while you have it, collapse is already here

I suppose that depends on how urgently you need a new computer. I waited several weeks for one of the first releases, but have been using it the last two years and it has been well worth it. I accidentally smashed the case when it slipped out of my bag on concrete and was thankful I got a framework when I was just able to swap it with a new shell of their marketplace within a week

Good. Fuck him- I hope he retires from the industry

Don't worry, in a few decades mother nature will decompress it catastrophically. In honest terms there is no political will to make the necessary changes to save our society. Anyone attempting to do so is essentially committing political suicide; any attempts to do so will quickly result in their replacement with someone maintaining the status quo

While I typically love a good sale, some labors of love like this or factorio involve so much quality they warrant paying to support these wonderful developers

We've had over 100 years of scientific publications since the climate disaster was first identified and instead of using our knowledge to mitigate our environmental effects, we used technology instead to more effectively drain resources. If the covid pandemic (an arguably singular problem) is any indication, we are utterly incapable of coordinating any collective societal changes, even if it pertains to our very survival. It is preposterous to even humor the idea that after more than a century of ignoring the problem we will suddenly uproot the basis of our creature comforts (and the only way the last several generations have lived) in order to tackle something the average person cannot even tangibly understand.

Would it be possible to create a fork of chromium to avoid google's influence?
