Never used any of them, thankfully.

Its reason is to eat, shit, and procreate.

Correct. I'll change to Tetrapods.

Nearly all tetrapods have a laryngeal nerve that goes from the brain stem to the larynx, but doesn't go straight for the few inches, instead travelling down the neck to go around the aortic arch above the heart. It's a throwback to when we were ocean dwelling and had gills much closer to the heart.

In giraffes this nerve takes a 15 ft detour.

In something like a brachiosaurus which had a neck around 30 ft long, this would be a 60ft detour.

A great proof of evolution, of making do with what is there and adapting.

Moths are the most incredible creatures. There's nothing I love more than opening my moth trap on a summer morning to see what beauties I've uncovered.

I always like to remind people that all butterflies (the newcomers) are moths, and moth variation of species is much more varied accordingly.

There are 59 species of butterflies in the UK and around 2500 species of moths, that we know of.

What's the most terrible thing you've ever done?

You want to silence the sentient mushroom cloud?

Half the posts in Lemmy Shitposts seem like they're from horny teens. I've blocked a number of accounts.

Everyone I've tried is obviously fake. They're too rubbery. The texture is all off. Not awful, but nothing on the real thing.

I have a bath every night, no matter the weather. 30 mins reading my current book before washing and shaving. I have a bath thermometer and keep the temperature at 43.5 degrees c. Usually some muscle relaxing herbal bath salts. It's the best part of the day. Pure bliss.

It's usually a bugger to get out and you need to involve a finger.

I don't recall that happening with any other foodstuff.

It's an absolute bugger to get out, often involving a finger to work it free?

I don't recall that ever happening with any other foodstuff.
