I have a pretty bad memory when it comes to remembering the appearances of characters in books, usually because it’s mentioned once or twice and then mostly just briefly throughout the book again.

I was wondering if anyone knew a site that had like just the descriptions of characters from books, lifted from the text even without spoilers.

I’d like to start making notes going forward for myself when reading but I’m so far into The Way of Kings now that it’s quite difficult to backtrack for character descriptions.

Any help is much appreciated, don’t even know if what I’m looking for exists but it sounds super handy, to me anyway.

Cheers. ^^

I’ve enabled and disabled this option but can’t seem to see what it actually does, I figured it would just hide the scores as it says on the tin but nada

Edit* On latest TF version.

I’ve been using http://bunkrr.su a lot recently as an alternative

I was adding links to a post and replies through the in app link add option, e.g. ddg but I can’t seem to open them, clicking them doesn’t do anything

Ebooks question (lemmy.world)

I recently updated my kobo devices and saw that there’s a Google drive option now for storing books elsewhere, for the time being I’ve just been using calibre and moving files over myself, would there be any concerns to host non drm ebooks from mam on a Google drive if I’m only sharing it with like one person.

Cheers^^

I’m giving wefwef a go since there seems to be more notification options, messages and such available than that of memmy

I’m currently using Memmy and it’s giving me Apollo vibes but I’m open to testing out other apps ^^

I think it just makes you more discoverable to other peers for dl/seeding, don’t quote me on that I might be misremembering

It’s kinda weird to have a social media platform be actually social, yknow what I mean lmao

I think there was a rollback or smth that was causing older posts to crop up and it seems that’s been fixed

9/10 times I’d go to comment something and realise it’d already been said or it was just hectic and I just wouldn’t and it got to the point I just never bothered anymore.

It’s been a very enjoyable experience, I’ve been bouncing about twitter and tumblr to try and fill that social media gap for a while now and I’m hoping this is it.

Idk how to explain it and I imagine it’s been said plenty of times by now but it’s just, way easier to engage with posts here, usually on Reddit I’d just ignore the whole commenting aspect and just scroll through media.

I like this change, it reminds me of older social media platforms I used to use that were fairly small, player.me for instance.

I think sub rehab fits the bill quite nicely.
