Kicking myself for missing the reissue of this tape

I love this album.

Against my better judgement I grabbed that Watch Dogs game since it's 85% off. I find the "humor" distressingly bad (LOL the computer said "fuck!" lmao) and for some reason the voice-acting is really grating on my nerves. But it's fun to drive around causing chaos, and collecting weirdo hacker recruits like Pokemon.

I also grabbed Dex but I only played a few minutes to test it out. Bonus points for having a native linux port though.

Yeah, federation's been kind of buggy lately.

There's a known bug with some communities like !asklemmy@lemmy.world which hasn't been federated in 11 days now. Something to do with the address (https://lemmy.world/c/asklemmy leads to a 404 but https://lemmy.world/c/asklemmy@lemmy.world works, which shouldn't be happening). There's also now a version mismatch between SDF and some instances like lemmy.ml which are on 0.18 which probably isn't helping.

Communities only appear on this instance if they've already been discovered by somebody. If you get a 404 error, try pasting "!community_name@home.instance.name" into the community search field. It'll say "no results" but it'll actually fetch the community and then you can subscribe.

Sometimes it still just randomly doesn't work though.

God the recommendations based on my shelf are completely worthless. I gave the Fellowship of the Ring five stars and now all my recs are totally clogged up with art books and behind-the-scenes stuff about the movies. Oh yeah, please keep showing me audiobook versions of shit I already read!

Nice! I've just been using it to build a campaign world for fun but I haven't had a chance to play it with people yet.

Are you finding it works well as a sandbox? I've never played any kind of cyberpunk rpg like that before, it's always been super-railroady because as players we understood that the GM spent time crafting some mission/plot in advance, so we might as well just go along with it.

Which ones have you tried?

I don't know if it has everything, but !emulation@lemmy.ml shows up when I search "emulation" on https://lemmyverse.net

This is probably the biggest issue I have with Lemmy right now. To make matters worse, it's really easy to miss how the system works. A lot of new users on smaller instances probably think this place is a ghost town because they don't see many communities in the directory. It's not ideal to have to use an external tool to find communities, then extra problematic that the actual process is so awkward: manually pasting the address from the external site in the search bar, then you get a "community not found" warning but ignore that, then the community will appear but it'll grab the old posts and not the comments. Weird.

I can accept that it would be too much if every single instance defaulted to a full local sync of every other community on every other instance, but they should at least show up in a list when searched for, IMO.

He comes across as such a quiet, humble guy now and then I think back to all the edgy "YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE JOHN ROMERO'S BITCH" nonsense surrounding Daikatana hahaha
