The No Labels ticket will only help Trump. Manchin needs to just retire.

I wonder what kind of integration this could possibly have with the Vision, I like my AirTags and can’t really think of what else could be added for a second generation version.

I really liked the book, Hoid narration was fun and very different from Tress, and we got some time with Design!

Between this and the iOS 17 standby feature, it seems like Apple likes the idea of displays showing information instead of just being black. Not really sure why they wouldn’t just make this a macOS feature though, dumb to limit this to some sort of smart monitor instead of just using the computer it is connected to.

Thank you, this has to be one of the more annoying Reddit conspiracy theories, especially because every year multiple posts with clickbait titles would hit the front page.

That kind of work environment is unsurprising given he idolizes Musks Twitter. From what I have heard, in general Musks companies are known to be horrible to work for.

iPhone 15 looks to be a pretty great update, at least for the Pro. Personally I have been holding out for a USB C iPhone so I was going to upgrade whenever that happened but there are some other things that look good as well.

I don’t think there was a whole lot of forethought other than “third party app users would make us more money if they switched over to the official app”

I don’t get the sense that there was even clear communication within Reddit administration itself given they were assuring devs that they would work with devs and it would be affordable initially.

When did they make this a feature? My son watched a movie this morning and I got a notification asking how it was and to rate the movie.

I hope that post gets traction. People should be sharing it all over to prove Reddit is being entirely disingenuous. They don’t care about third party apps or accessibility, they immediately made promises they have no ability to keep before their self imposed deadline.

This is a fairly old article but thought it might be nice to discuss.

I think an AppleTV HomePod combination would be super interesting, especially if they developed full surround using other homepods as surround speakers.

Also wonder if the new continuity camera feature of TVos is an indication that a device with camera is still coming or Apple ported this feature over instead of pursuing a built in camera.

I wonder what type of improvements a next gen UWB chip would provide, especially related to integration with the Vision Pro.

Looks like Reddit is forcing another sub open, but there are users advocating changing the sub to be about actual steam.

[-] FiendishFork@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

The person who commented on there about changing the subreddit to discuss literal steam has the right idea.

I’m not sure about before Apple Card, but one of the bigger draws of Apple Card is financing Apple products with zero interest. Just seems ridiculous that you can’t finance an iPhone using Apples own credit card unless you have service with one of the big 3 carriers. I was also thinking it has to be carriers getting upset people use their Apple Card’s to buy unlocked and bring it to their network avoiding BS fees they charge.

Unfortunately the protest seems to basically be done. I think Mods should have had a plan to come back but to “quiet quit” and allow communities to go to shit to prove that what they do has value. Plus it would be much harder for Reddit to control that or identify where it’s being done.

Unfortunately it seems there was no real plan beyond the 2 day blackout, which should have been a starting point not a finish line.

[-] FiendishFork@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Yeah i have seen a good amount of “I don’t want to be inconvenienced for third party apps” and that Reddit is already giving assurances that mod tools and accessibility apps are exempted from the changes.

I’m not a mod but I thought a lot of mods use tools built into the third party apps that just aren’t present on the official app. So Reddit saying mod tools are unaffected seems like a promise they don’t have the ability to keep.
