I have one in my wallet. Would prefer a tag that doesn’t make it look like I’m walking around with a condom on me at all times.
Everyone knows it’s an AirTag, no one believes you’re having sex. 😉
Or they probably just assume it’s a condom that’s been in there for years
I’ve been considering getting a Chipolo card spot for my wallet. Supposedly it works with the FindMy network and is in a credit card form factor.
Doesn’t do precision tracking though, so you don’t get the arrow and exact distance
I have one, works as intended. Range is slightly lower compared to the original. Likely because of the obstructions in your wallet
They better not force another album on me with the U2 chip
What would you wish for in a new version?
Smaller form factor, maybe?
Say if they made the tag more efficient and can use a CR2016 so it could be thinner maybe?
Or just longer battery life with the current battery size
How often do you have to change yours? I got mine on launch and have only had to change the battery one time.
Twice I think. I guess it highly depends on where you’re leaving it and how close it is to you. I got one in my wallet which I rarely have on me and that ones draining a lot faster than my keys which I always have with me. Also the more AirTags you have to more you have to swap, so it’s definitely welcome to do that as seldomly as possible.
Interesting idea but I wonder if it would cut the battery life too much even with efficiency improvements.

I was looking for something like this but eventually gave up and just put a regular one in the coin pocket
Tile do a credit card shaped tracker, however it has a none replaceable battery and I found the Tile experience in general to be sub par compared to air tags

Smaller, rechargeable battery. Wallet card model.
Knowing Apple, they will make it difficult to open/repair if it has a rechargeable battery. Thus it will be destined to be e-waste in the future.

How Apple didn’t create one from the beginning is such an easy missed opportunity
same company that still sells a wireless mouse that cannot be charged while using it. I love a lot of apple products but some times they really miss the mark in VERY stupid ways.
Just smaller size. Everything else I want is software. Like being able to share the AirTag with someone else, but that should be coming in the next iOS release.
Besides upgrading the internal chip and changing the form factor, how much can it really change?
Battery, range, accuracy. Just guessing.
Mine constantly gets where i can't find it with the camera thing. Hope they fix it.
