Literal doctors trying to convince me that monitors emit cancer causing radiation.

I had to explain to a doctor what ionizing radiation was... And that's how I learned that doctors are just like every other profession. And there are just as many morons that graduated med school as morons that graduated high school (proportionately).

The thought is a precursor to a long long chain of causality.

Explain like you're 5? Terminator timeline. The machines are the tyranny. And the people with guns are us. We're just waiting for John Connor. The right voice with the right message.

And people rib me for having 3 screens. Yes yes, tell me how much cancer they are giving me per square second.

This seems pretty comprehensive: https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/1b2m5gd/a_detailed_guide_of_plex_for_beginners_and/

However, while LLM usage is not in vogue around here, this is one situation where I think an LLM would be very handy.

You can use something like ChatGPT to read that post and then come up with a sensible step by step procedure where you can install and configure each program once at a time.

Let's say you have a few movies and shows already downloaded.

You can get your feet wet by installing Plex Media Server, or another solution (Emby and Jellyfin are the top contenders). Then when you want to automate downloading if torrents, you get into the next step, and so on so forth.

Rarely does someone build an end game device at the beginning. Usually it's a learn as you go and upgrade as the need arises.

The most important thing in the very idea behind any of this? Get started. One step at a time. Make mistakes and learn from them.

Yeah. Agreed. Specifically regarding education, I trace the exponential decline back to No Child Left Behind.

Anyone know of another massive attack on education that predates that? Aside from wider systemic corruption, I mean sufficient targeting at Education.

Indeed. So clearly you're in the group that knows. Now the real question is... How big is each group?

I will look into those, thanks!

I'm mainly using it to fill a small niche gap in my existing pirate fleet.

Request for media <> Servarr Stack + Usenet Indexer <> Download Client + Usenet Provider <> Media Server

Right on brother, I'm already on Usenet, mainly looking for a private tracker as a next to last resort.

Speaking of which, if anyone has an invite to spare for a good private tracker, please DM me. Private tracker I used since highschool has finally lost the plot.

I don't think it's really possible to have a reasonable argument against a vendor agnostic open standard in most cases.

The usual misunderstanding. Trying to learn how to naturally speak their language while still saying what I am intending to say.
