Don’t get me wrong it was a good episode but

Tap for spoilerShe killed Silco, I hated that, especially given how jinx saw him as a father figure and Silco fully said that he would never give her up.

Then she just fires at the council, I get how she is a wildcard but that imo was too far even for her.

Man, I want to watch it again now

Silver lining to high hardware prices, geopolitic conflict won’t target civilian infrastructure when there are far more efficient targets like data centres.

Ah I see what you mean, I kind of meant that with my poorly worded take on jinx being impulsive.

I thought their strategy was to work on characters in the first season and basically focus on plot in the second. I did enjoy the second season very much but it did have a different feel to it.

I personally didn’t love how they ended the first season and imo the first season third episode was the highlight of season 1. Season 2 also had episode 7 which imo was very good world building with a clever twist. So given all that I didn’t feel a big drop in quality from 1 to 2.

Maybe I would on the second watch

So apparently the stock went up.

Maybe more data centers need to be destroyed, for shareholders I mean.

I too am curious, imo the headphone jack removal was the first sign of enshitification.

Really? What did you dislike about it? My only concern was how they made jinx so impulsive and not very consistent but beyond that I thought it was pretty good.

I can’t believe it’s not mentioned:

Arcane.

It’s like across the spider verse level beautiful.

Oh and Andor was epic

Sure, one good one is bike paths, if you’ve used them enough, you get a good general layout of the neighbourhood.

What bugs me about all this is that we had functioning systems before all the AI hit critical mass.

It’s like we built modern medicine and it bugged us that it worked through effort and hard work.

Oh I’ve been waiting so this for years.

Hava what?

We need a scale for these things now, cause I can’t tell how bad he was given all the stuff we know from the Epstein files.

On the monster end we would have trump and Epstein, probably Weinstein somewhere in the middle. I guess at the other end you have Louis CK?

Is Kevin half a Weinstein or a full one with some Epstein?

To add insult to injury, what they call it, Deutschland, sounds like what we should call Netherlands

Even though the country wasn’t so bad after Dabya, imo it’s honestly where it all went wrong in the modern era. And it all started with a corrupt person who should have stayed in the private sector.

It all came down to: there isn’t a law forbidding it so there is opportunity

Hi,

I’m trying to find a way to have my iPhone’s photos be automatically (or even manually) backed up/synced with my home server.

I heard about photo prism here and got it up and running, however I could not find a free app that lets you sync. Photo sync is their main recommendation and it puts high quality photo backup behind premium.

Is there any solution that lets you backup your photos through home wifi?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: thanks to the suggestions, I found this handy chart listing many and comparing them: https://meichthys.github.io/foss_photo_libraries/

Just thought more people should know about this cause… CGP Grey is awesome.

Sorry to post something that should be in the you should know community… but that’s in lemmy.world which would take this down.

Please let me know if I should post this somewhere else.

Hi,

I recently built a new gaming computer and have been contemplating about the OS.

I prefer to move away from windows given obvious reasons and do like using Linux, but my experience with my steam deck has taught me that pirating games in Linux is hit or miss.

I played around with windows LTSC and honestly, seems like windows without the bloatware.

So question is, how is game pirating on Linux (in a desktop, not steam deck).

Is it as smooth as windows or should I just say fuck it and accept that my gaming computer has to stay windows for another generation?

I’ll see myself out.

They are honestly both good, but can’t beat the native ios experience.
