iunno how i'm feeling about AI art. like, i'm generally not a fan of presenting lowered barriers as a bad thing, but something about any dickhead being able to conjure up an image that, at least at first glance, looks very technically accomplished (before you notice the stray limbs and mindfuck geometry) has removed so much of what made someone posting pictures online notable. there's not even the art of someone collecting memes and applying them in a way that is appropriate or interesting, it's literally just someone typing in the most thoughtless thing into a prompt and posting the image result, and thus making the presence of images online less interesting.

like, had someone tried to paint a surreal picture like that, it'd be fascinating to dissect, but because AI pictures are omnipresent, weird and surreal images are now just a sign of laziness instead of actual creativity that would invite contemplation. it becomes harder to just sit and think about how a strange picture makes me feel knowing it isn't any more reflective of another human being than the pattern of grooves in the paint on my walls - technically put there by another person but far more the result of the tool being used than any sort of creative process. and then knowing that i'm gonna actually pass over something that actually would be interesting because i assumed it was just another meaningless AI prompt.

There are secret drugs only rich people know about.

the dude was an actual advocate for anarchists in a space that was very ML leaning and there's a person i strongly suspect of having doxxed him in retaliation for it. dude was looking into council communism by the end. i'm pretty critical of the politics on this site, but your sock puppet shit is exactly why a bunch of anarchists, myself included, did not feel safe going on your website, and part of the promise of hexbear was eventually federating which does a lot to hold your typically unaccountable internet moderator actually accountable to both their users and to others in general if they no longer can hold a monopoly on access to a community.

it's also why i still don't have a reason to shitpost on raddle. none of these sites are safe places to actually organize anything (and i don't think it's fair to expect them to be that), but being entirely at the mercy of a particular clique of highly sectarian "ancoms aren't anarchIst" internet mods doesn't make it an appealing social hangout space or anywhere to actually meet vaguely like-minded people.

if you've mellowed out since then that's great but like don't act like there wasn't a damn good reason people didn't want to be on your website.

If you want an electoral solution, then withhold your vote on the explicit demand that Biden and the Democrats must bring Israel to heel and end the genocide immediately. If that seems unworkable, then so is this supposed democracy.

What you are correct about, though, is that simply saying "i'm not gonna vote" has always failed to be convincing to anyone but ourselves. That has to be paired with an alternative. The UAW is calling on other unions to negotiate for all their contracts to expire in 2028, in hopes of amassing an actual general strike. There are weapons manufacturers in the US that are not particularly well defended were they to be occupied. We can make the brands of those on the BDS list utterly toxic.

Remember that, for a moment during hte 2020 uprisings, the bourgeoisie blinked. They actually, briefly, were genuinely afraid that they could lose their power, and they had to at least pretend to support the protests. They libs had to grin and bear it as the third prescinct burned with a higher approval raiting than any presidential candidate. There is the capacity to render this entire country ungovernable, and if we focus on preparing for that and making sure the prescincts keep burning and don't stop, if we can create more unrest than what the cops can manage even with all their ahrdware that can't actually be everywhere at once. People have to learn to engage in politics outside of the actual existing US government.

Isn't AOC pro-Israel here? She's been recuperated even more than Sanders, and Sanders won't even call for a ceasefire.

Wouldn't want bad actors to find privacy respecting software.

I see this image and I wonder where the fuck else people are going to eat. Tbh this reads as a very urban take, if you're living in an area that basically exists to service people driving on the interstate it is just all chains. Any "family" restaurants are serving food from the same bulk supplier so they're identical to one another as well on top of tasting bad and being overpriced. People say chains are bad but like theyr'e at least consistent, paying $20 for really bad pizza that's worse than the $10 pizza you can get from Pizza Hut of all places is the extent of commercial food culture in much of so-called flyover country.

There isn't really such a thing as a public space out here. Any other kind of date is simply going to be at a bar or at someone's house. You simply do not socialize like how people socialize on TV out here, you either have to be visiting your friends' houses regularly or you're going to simply go direclty home and watch TV. There's simply not enough rich people to support anything more upscale.

i mean yeah i generally view it as ND, in particular the use of pathological personality diagnoses by the carceral state to justify longer sentencing for minorities have me view it as politically aligned with other ND movements where diagnosis is used to revoke autonomy. it's better to focus on harm actually done rather than this moralizing belief in some inherent evilness in someone's soul or something. a lot of autistic liberation has an adverserial relationship with diagnosis in general, I would generally advise people to be skeptical of a diagnosis created on the assumption there exists such a thing as genetic basis for a born criminal. in particular the moralization of not having empathy fucks over a lot of autistic people and is a common complaint in autistic circles, that hyperempathetic autistics throw other autistics under the bus by presenting themselves as morally superior. not having the physiological empathy response does not inherently make you a murderer, it means it takes more effort to understand someone else on an intellectual level.

not that I would then argue you're ableist, because I think there is an issue where a lot of leftist spaces moralize disagreement and massively overescalate shit.

your cops too, especially the one you're related to.

[-] Helmic@hexbear.net 46 points 10 months ago

Really wish people would talk more about just how widespread this is, there are so many pedophile cops and they keep getting to be cops after being exposed.

Of course not. Rimworld apartments have a communal common area that is as luxurious as the situation permits, and sometimes have enough room for a double bed.
