I really hate being negative towards artists, but does anyone else feel like a lot of the recent card art looks rushed? I don’t know what it is, but it’s like the faces look too smooth and 3D. Not like actual pictures. Just compare this to the original [[Massacre Girl]] and it feels rushed (although different artists, so styles can certainly vary).

I got similar vibes from [[Gimli, Counter of Kills]] and [[Rankle and Torbrand]] recently, just to name two cards off hand.

It's not the artists, because the same artists who I see cards that I think look bad have old card art that looks fantastic. I get the feeling that Wizards is asking artists to produce so much work that we aren’t getting the time put into a single card’s art that we used to and getting more rushed art.

Maybe it’s just me. I’m curious what others think.

I’ve had a bonavita electric kettle for 5+ years and it’s been great. I just use it for heating up water ~daily and have zero complaints (not sure if there is anything else that you would be looking for an electric kettle to do). I’m pretty sure it was like $50 on Amazon.

I have zero love for ATT but love my fiber plan. I’d like to switch, since they don’t let me change the DNS server, but the plan I had before was awful and my internet dropped all the time.

This isn’t an opinion, this is a fact.

Joey was great too, because if I recall correctly you could peak any image. Even if it was an article it would let you peak the preview image. Some apps with peak only let you do it if it was an image post.

Multiple days later edit: Typo

About half way through Mother/Earthbound Zero on my NES flashcart. I’ll have to pick Earthbound up after. I got about half way through years ago but never finished it.

Most recently finished Crystalis.

In my experience Google is a bit better than DDG. I tried it out a few years ago and often found myself going back to Google for certain searches. Been using DDG again for a few weeks and having a somewhat similar experience.

Looks like some good match-ups this week (I say as a passive fan whose teams aren't good).

Couple of fun ranked match-ups: Colorado at Oregon, Ole Miss at Alabama, Ohio State at Notre Dame. I'm even hoping that Iowa at Penn Sate is a game.

Some other fun looking match-ups too.

It's not. It took me a second to figure out, but there is a numbered dot with shading relative to ownership on the state. Then there is also a black dot with a line that labels it. For example, look at Cary, NC. I was confused because it looks like it's labeled twice, but it's just the way that the chart was designed. If you look at a state like Texas with more cities in the data, it makes sense that it makes it easier to name each of the cities from one point, but it can look confusing when a state only has one city in the data.

In my experience, Instagram has also become the most reliable source for local restaurants randomly being closed (this has happened more often than I would like to discuss post-pandemic) and breweries (i.e. which food truck is at which brewery on any given day).

I have found those to be the only reasons that I ever check Instagram.
