I wish we still lived in those times. It’s really unfortunate the reality we find ourselves in vis a vis school shootings and other gun violence.

Nothing has changed as far as the weapons available, however society is much worse off then it was 25 years ago. And I'm not talking about the good old days of overt racism. I'm talking about material conditions, wealth inequality, employment opportunities, and just general dissolution of "polite society." Violence is a symptom of this degradation and going fascist with regards to the State monopoly on violence is going to make things much worse for everyone who doesn't already live in the guilded parallel society (like CEO's, the rich, and their pocket politicians.)

People in rural areas still want bell peppers and cucumbers, and the "general store" which often acts as a hardware store/grocery store etc, will have those along with live bait, alcohol, and probably stuff you've never heard of, like tannerite. Ammo is just one of the multitudinous things you may find in such a location.

One of the many things you are wrong about. So maybe don't chime in next time.

Where is the animosity? Hexbear is fine.

It's extremely boring and mundane as such things should be, but it here it goes. We had skeet shooting as an extra curricular. At the beginning of the semester you'd buy some boxes of shells and store them in your locker along with your shotgun. A box of shells would last about 3 sessions. If you ran out of shells but hadn't brought more ammo you'd have the option to go use the vending machine instead of having to leave the grounds to buy more and probably miss practice or the competition. So it was just a convenience having it there. Of course if you had some friends you could borrow their shells.

Where are the hexbear people with their image macro's. I need the one of Netanyahu with the cartoonish bomb.

Ah found it. This is from like 2004 or something. e: apparently 2012 67th United Nations General Assembly meeting Sept. 27, 2012

Different countries have different things they consider normal and in particularly diverse countries like the US, different regions in the same country have different ideas of normal. For example you won't see live bait being sold in London or Paris grocery stores, but seeing that for sale in Louisianna outside of New Orleans (or even inside it) is extremely mundane and normal.

The thing i dislike the most about luigi is that he got caught when he was almost certainly should have gotten away. But maybe the trial will be some kind of transformative re-interpretation of self-defense or something (I doubt it).

Who is "we." And vending machines have been available since before your favorite video game depicted them. I had a vending machine for shotgun shells in my high school like 25 years ago. We did skeet shooting and if you needed a few more rounds you could go buy some ammo instead of having to go off campus for it. The whole thing is extremely mundane.

e: The vending machine was actually an old cigarette vending machine heh.

Breaking news, ammo still legal to sell. Thanks for the cross posts!

Who are you people? I'm not even a huge hunter or anything, but ammo for sale in a grocery store is pretty mundane in places where hunting is common. Have you ever left your suburb?

A pretty standard pro-environmental piece, however I do appreciate how it calls out the "German Green Party," which is obviously just an astro-turfed political party funded by the coal industry.

And of course the criticism of about the farce of Carbon Capture is spot-on.

A growing number of Senate Democrats appear open to making it harder for migrants to seek asylum in order to secure Republican support for aiding Ukraine and Israel.

This is what the democrats stand for. Unlimited funding for the MIC and border-control, but social issues are not a priority.

Stop voting for the parties of Capital.
