Lol, all these GIMP haters who don't seem to understand the goal was being on par with Photoshop when it was a desktop application. It works exactly like Photoshop always did. And I agree, selection makes sense. There were many apps that worked the same.. Paint Shop Pro as well.

I guess the kids have all grown up with some other tools and would rather call things they don't understand stupid than try to grasp where the tool came from.

I'm not sure how Krita is different but then again I haven't used it. I installed it, saw it looked like a fork of GIMP, and stuck with what I knew. Which is probably what anyone who hates GIMP should do.

Given its been identified as likely being a floating mat, which are apparently environmentally protected and present a risk of drowning.. I'd say there's a lot of stupid choices happening in this video.

I identify with this because of my ADHD.

But also, because ADHD, I spent about 15 minutes in a "does not compute" loop because bats can see perfectly well in the dark, so using them as an analogy involving something being lost and helping them by turning the lights on is just not making sense to me.

I've broken out of the loop, but I still am not sure why "bats"

I mean, gas is the original surge pricing commodity, they have had dark patterns in their pricing long before other companies.

"Why the internet isn't fun anymore" - proceeds to talk about Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

Completely fails to mention any fediverse sites, or any of the millions of other sites out there.

If you're the author, the internet isn't fun anymore because you don't use it. You visit the corporate websites only. You either never learned how to use the internet, or you're not interested in actually trying.

Its like the person who never leaves their neighborhood and complains that life is boring.

Yeah I was just picturing the Disney like scene of all kinds of cute animals and birds eating corn, then as the you keep looking you see the express train roll through.

I'm just an introvert with ADHDand I agree with this meme. This is especially true after a long day of work. I do not have extreme anxiety or any anxiety in a social situation. I just find them exhausting.

Its simple, capitalism treats the consumer like cattle, and the optimization of profit drives them to replace real quality products with cheaper and cheaper substitutes over time until you're expected to bite into that tire and go "wow, this chicken is delicious"

They are the worst streaming service. They looked at cable TV and said "this is perfect" while being apparently oblivious that most people who pay for streaming services HATE cable TV.

The only thing that made Prime worth it was shipping, but then Amazon decided they wanted to own the whole shipping process and stopped using reliable shippers and brought it all in house and now its a dice roll if you are going to get your package or if its going to be lost, and half the time its damaged.

I order anywhere else now and canceled prime.
