Is there a particular reason you need an nvidia gpu? Like plans to do local LLMs or other projects that really require a nvidia gpu?

Because I am just so pleased with AMD for gpus in Linux. So simple.

Not knocking your choice, just trying to understand it. Everyone has valid reasons for why they choose their setups.

Edit: nevermind I am so confused by the new naming schemes I thought this was an nvidia, others have informed me its an AMD. Nevermind me I am a dingus.

She's also a Republican in all the worst kind of ways. Looking at her Wikipedia page just... Yikes.

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I think what people keep overlooking about "optics" is that a mass number of people will never see this news because they only digest news through algorithmically controlled content providers that give them more of what they already believe.

The number of people going directly to traditional media outlets keeps shrinking in favor of YouTube shorts, Tiktok, Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram

File this under "No Shit, Sherlock!"

Although it is nice to have evidence to support the obvious.

The cost of making spambot AI reveal themselves in all caps rhyming poetry?

Priceless.

For everything else there's Mastercard.

It feels odd/uncomfortable that we have AI governance working at credit card companies, but I guess you could do worse than someone who actually understands how to bait them.

Honestly part of the reason I love being on blahaj is hardly having to block anyone because Ada is super on top of blocking entire instances as well as individuals who would look to make blahaj no longer a safe space. The amount of blocking I have had to do is incredibly minimal.

Thanks as always, Ada.

It's hit and miss in eastern WA, none in this old house.

I live in the desert of eastern Washington state, USA.

It's been a fucking heat wave for a month already. I'm dyin' over and losing so much sleep. It's past 1am and the windows have been open with fans in them since 10pm when the temperature outside finally dropped below the temperature inside (79F/26.1C outside to 80F/26.6C inside), and as of now its finally down to... 77F/25C... still too fucking hot. It's been well over 90F/32F every day for way way way too long. It's hit 100F/37F at least 6 days that I've counted so far.

I'm a self-hoster with a lot of devices and I've literally shut down any non-essentials to keep the heat down inside.

I have tried journaling numerous times, particularly for mental health reasons as it is supposed to be helpful, and it has never worked for me as something helpful to do. It just makes me ruminate even more.

They were the only phones I would reasonably buy due to their ability to be customizable... Yeah this pretty much puts a nail in the coffin of using a Pixel in my book as well.

I have cancer. I'm open about it. This medicaid funding shit could literally kill me.

I am so sick of people suggesting I should "pull a Luigi" or "go out like a hero" because they still have things to lose so they don't want to stand up and lose them. So because I'm gonna die, I should say fuck it and risk it all for a bunch of jerks who wouldn't and haven't done the same for me?

Do you have any idea how disrespectful that is to people who are already suffering? When nobody is standing up to sacrifice themselves to save the weak, broken, sick, and disabled? Why's it our job to save the able bodied? Why can't these people see that even though they think their heart is in the right place, they're still basically telling us "your life sucks anyway and will end soon, you should throw it away for the rest of us who never did anything for you" or more simply "kys."

I'm officially tired of this inconsiderate and frankly ableist bullshit.

Honestly, I wish some mods or admins would make some rules about it since it's ableist.

i found this vhs called "Punch Punch Forever" (パンチパンチフォーエバー) in my dads basement in a box labelled "DO NOT OPEN" but he only wrote that on the box because there was a big scary rat in there and the rat bit me when i went to grab the tape and now i'm blind in my left eye.

finally got around to digitizing and uploading it though! enjoy! this one is labelled as "episode 1 of 62,737"

Gogo Matsumoto, an 11-year old aloof martial arts prodigy, along with her half-demon older sister; Nono, her mama; Mama, and her cool pet frog; Coolfrog, embark to compete in a martial arts tournament that pits humans against a near-infinite barrage of demons from another realm called the Akumugai. If a human can come out triumphant, they will be granted a wish from the Akumugai's warlord, Emperor Koro. Can Gogo overcome this impossibe challenge? If so, will she wish for a big, like REALLY big hambrguger? I hope so!

Out of them was produced a secret handbook developed on how to break down prisoners. The key was using shock to reduce adults to a childlike state.
