I love MCC, but I don't like competitive FPS games at all. I'm in it exclusively for the campaign, and occasionally custom games. That said: playing any FPS with a controller is an incredibly frustrating experience. I know what I want to happen, but my hands can't make it happen.

Yeah! I really like the combat in KotOR. It's like a normal turn based CRPG, but faster.

Vimm's Lair probably has whatever PS3 games you want- google should find that site easily. I have no clue on DLCs- I don't think I've ever emulated a PS3 game that had DLCs so I can't really help.

RPCS3 is very user friendly as far as emulators go so you might be surprised with what non-techie people can do with it. AC4 multiplayer is listed as compatible with RPCN so you could probably play it multiplayer, it's just a question of actually finding people playing it.

As for Xbox 360 emulation: again, you can get files from Vimm's but I'd suggest you let that cook. Xenia is the only 360 emulator I'm aware of. It definitely works, but it's still in rough shape right now. Needs more time. I know OG Xbox emulators exist, but I've never looked into them personally.

I've never really understood the comparisons between Destiny 2 and Borderlands, honestly. I like both but my brain puts them in very different boxes. Same thing with Warframe.

I like them, personally, and there's absolutely nothing else that scratches the "I want to play Borderlands" itch. The quality varies a lot by the game, though.

Has it not? I feel like 16:9 has basically won, with a consolation prize for 16:10

I think a double split end is a pretty great fit for mildly interesting? It's not that it's a split end, it's that the split ends then split.

It's mildlyinteresting, not roastme or haircare advice.

I actually have, it's an extremely obscure Celtic god. I first heard of him in Smite, though.

That's why I don't really use them myself. I'm not willing to spread misinformation just because ChatGPT told me it was true, but I also have no interest in going back over every response and double checking that it's not just making shit up.

Well, the primary thing is that you can ask extremely specific questions and get tailored responses.

That's the best use case for LLMs, imo. It's less of a replacement for a traditional encyclopedia- though people use it like that also- and more of a replacement for googling your question and getting a Reddit thread where someone explains.

The issue comes when people take everything it spits out as gospel, and do zero fact checking on it- basically the way that they hallucinate is the problem I have with it.

If there's a chance it's going to just flatly make things up, invent statistics, or just be entirely wrong.. I'd rather just use a normal forum and ask a real person that probably has a clue whatever question I have. Or try to find where someone has already asked that question and got an answer.

...why is that relevant?

Do you filter literally all the water you intake, or do you think they only used lead pipes for the water hoses outside or something?

I've been out for quite awhile- I think since shortly after Deimos and the cambion drift got added but honestly I'm not sure exactly when I stopped playing.

Any new guns/frames I should be trying to grab in particular? Any massive shifts in how things are modded? New quests that are worth doing?

I was trying to unlock Steel Path, but I realized I need to do New War first. So now I'm currently trying to get all the various stuff I need to craft a Voidrig.

I'm going to be starting a pretty short campaign here soon. I've mostly got the plot figured out, and when I was helping a player with character creation they asked if there was a good patron for their Warlock character. My initial thought was, "well the BBEG would be interesting."

The players are just exploring a ruined castle/island that's been twisted and it's inhabitants warped due to exposure to a great old one- they're trying to solve the problem and make the place habitable again.

The warlock's patron is the BBEG, an eldritch god trying to force his way onto their plane. He's currently held out of the plane by a magical seal that can't be broken by him or any of his servants. So the Warlock player needs to- subtly- get the party all the way to the seal and manipulate them into breaking it. I did this specifically to avoid him murder hoboing his party members. They have different goals, but they still need each other.

If this goes badly, I figure the worst case scenario is that he gets slapped by the other 5 party members. So I've asked him to have at least an idea for a second character.

Personally I think if everything that's promised actually happens the game will be in a significantly better state.
