If you have a file manager app installed you should get that as an option for most content (I use Amaze).
Thanks for this! I was definitely curious about how it would run.
This was pretty much my reaction as well.
Ah OK. Every time someone asks how to find other communities, I see that Lemmy Explorer site linked, which is why I searched there and was confused why this community wasn't on there.
Nice to know it's showing up in other indexers though.
Like others have mentioned, I am in the same boat of having multiple communities to follow with the same name but on different instances and I forget about others or (more likely) don't even know that others exist.
It does bug me that I can't group communities that exist on different instances together. It would be nice to be able to subscribe to a collection of communities that I can give a label to.
A way to group all patientgamers communities together would be a huge help.
It's just the way the whole federation stuff works I guess. And I like it...Except for when I don't 😂
Thanks!
It's more like thanks to everyone who has been posting and commenting in the last year and keeping the tone/mood of this place chill, inviting and friendly, which is all I wanted.
This has definitely been the case with me as well. Especially as I got older and had less time to play anything.
I've always been partial to story over mechanics though. I just think the preference has tilted much further in favor of story games now.
Wow that's an amazing run you've given that kindle! I used to have that one as well, years ago.
If you are sticking in the Amazon/Kindle world, then a new Kindle (whether you go with the base Kindle or the Paperwhite) you'll have a much faster experience for sure. The newer eink readers now can do several page turns without any real visual flash of the refresh. It's a small thing but very nice.
The Paperwhite has a backlight which is helpful for night reading. You'll also get dark mode in the new software (not sure if your keyboard kindle has stayed up to date with software updates or not). Also there's waterproofing.
The base kindle just loses the light and the waterproofing.
If you're not going to stick with Amazon, take a look at the Kobo readers. They're a great alternative to people not stuck in the Amazon world.
I just tested this on my phone now in Jerboa and it opens the community in-app for me, not a browser. .
I'm in version 0.0.32
Welcome!
#1!
I remember going to the bookstore and looking at a Nintendo Power magazine. The postcards they had in there for you to mail in and subscribe always had art or photos on them. And one of them had a small blurry photo of one of the dungeons in Zelda.
I yanked that postcard out and took it home with me to study the dungeon with a magnifying glass so I could beat it 😂
Personally I stopped custom roms a while back. I'm not hardcore in the anti-google camp though.
If you are, obviously custom roms will be all you should be looking at. Tons of good recommendations in this thread already.
If you're not in this camp though, the default pixel experience has been great for me and might be for you. I find it the least annoying of the oem experiences (not cluttered in features I'll never use, simplified settings menu where I've never had to use the search on since it all made sense etc).
I'd say use the stock rom for a few weeks. If you hate it, custom roms are always there for you.
