God, 90 Day is the epitome of modern trash TV. My mom watched all of it a couple years ago, spinoffs too.

I don't think I've ever seen "community" abbreviated as "muni"

That's how I felt about Shadow Warrior 2

I feel like if AI is gonna be used in games in the future, they should implement it in the opposite way. Use it to make different stories and characters to populate a world someone actually created.

The Mantella mod for Skyrim is what I'd want out of AI video games in the future. That thing is kind of a beast imo, as you can use it to generate completely brand new stories and quests. This General Sam video where he plays through Skyrim with the mod, talking to any and all animals he comes across, really makes it feel like an entirely new type of game. I mean, he goes into a bear den after some town guards killed a different one, convinced one of the cave bears to follow him to town to get revenge for killing it, and even had a conversation with the bear over which healing spell "felt" better.

What does that title even mean? I'm a little shocked that an OF repost bot gets so much attention on Lemmy.

I initially got it for the story lol. Well, I think it was on Games With Gold a few years back and that's how I got it.

Either way I enjoyed the story for what it was, trying to bridge the gap between OT and ST, and thought it didn't do a terrible job at it.

Preorders for a mobile game... Nah.

This is a solid game for how cheap it goes on sale regularly. I mean it's pretty old now, but still.

Multiplayer can be fun, but there are a lot of bots. The Galactic Conquest mode (the Clone War one that's more like the classic BF games) can kinda drag for a really long time in some matches, but it's still pretty fun to jump in and start blasting.

When I worked two jobs, I'd take the bus from one to the other and it would always take like an hour and a half. One day I decided to walk it, cause it was only a couple miles (also cause the bus driver straight up passed right by me while I was sitting on the bus stop bench waiting for them), maybe a little more than a mile and a half. Took me 45 minutes, maybe.

The first few levels of Pirate's Life are fantastic imo. Especially that first one when you're going through the cave and listening to the voiceover... I got chills when I first played it. It was just really fun for me and I can't really explain why. I liked how they got the original voices to record some new lines for the quest/level too.

And I really like the "DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES" guy.

Saw this guy just chilling by my hotel when I went out for a smoke.

I was just wondering everyone's favorite level(s) were/are. You can explain why you like it, or you can just name drop the level you like most.

Mine are probably:

  1. Assault on The Control Room, I love the big epic set pieces of the level, and it has probably the best/most "examples" of what Halo is as a game than any other in CE. You have big weapons, vehicles, large open battles, and awesome music.

  2. Delta Halo from Halo 2. I love the lush jungle setting and going through the underwater elevator is always fun. Plus I love just beating the hell out of Truth.

  3. Halo, from Halo 3. Like Assault on The Control Room, this level has it all

So I've been playing through all the Arkham games lately, and I had an interesting thought about the whole Arkhamverse as a storyline.

I think the entire game series is based (loosely) on The Killing Joke story, with other major events, references, and storylines lifted from other Batman comics. I just think TKJ was used as a basis for the games' world.

We see Joker's beginning with his flashback at the end of Arkham Origins, which is almost identical to his TKJ origin, as well as him crippling Barbara in that flashback during Arkham Knight (right down to the clothes he's wearing). The overall dark tone of the games lend to this theory, as well as Joker being shown just how sadistic he can be.

What do you think?

If it's at all possible. I just find it kind of annoying to have to scroll through super long posts just to get to the comments. Review threads for newly released games in some of the gaming communities are what prompted this idea lol.

Edit: what the hell is going on with that account that keeps spamming nonsense?

So I like to use Xbox controllers (doesn't matter if it's first- or third-party) because I like the layout, it's just comfortable to me. However I've noticed that on all my controllers in the past few years, the left thumb stick will start to "give out" over the course of a couple months. For instance I'll be pushing it forward all the way, but it won't register for some reason and my character will only move a little bit. Sometimes wiggling it a bit will fix it, sometimes it doesn't. And it's not like I'm squeezing the hell out of the controller or mashing the stick constantly; in fact it's made me try to be more delicate with my controllers, even though I'm just playing the games normally.

Is it just how controllers are, or am I just getting the shit end of the stick?

Like, I travel around for work and I've met plenty of people from all backgrounds.

Why is there a demographic of people who don't seemingly bathe regularly, or at the very least wear something to cover up their BO? I could understand if it's an allergy, or even religious reasons (though the people I've met that smell bad are usually you're average American young adult man) but recently (like in the past week, recently) I've met a concerning number of people who don't seem to wear any kind of deodorant or possibly don't even bathe regularly; it's starting to become an issue for me, as I don't even want to interact with them when I can smell them walking up from 3+ feet away yet I need to for work.

Does anyone have any possible insight?
