Personally, the open source community's aversion to algorithms is what's holding me back. Say what you will about them, but I've found many great songs thanks to Spotify's algo.

There's some good discussion about the security in the comments, so I'm just going to say that Lumo's Android app required the Play Store and GPlay Services. I uninstalled.
It's also quite censored. I gave Proton's cute chatbot a chance, but I'm not impressed.
Instead of leaving Xitter, they left Mastodon. Proton's trend is not inspiring confidence and this feels like another step backwards.
I'd rather donate $750 to Jellyfin than pay $750 to Plex for Lifetime.
