I think we know why and it's not good

Except this is written law, it's pretty clear in the constitution. If the state refuses to respect our inalienable rights then the citizens are left with few options on how to respond

Once that line is crossed it's finally time to get serious!

Luckily the common parliamentary system does seem more effective at slowing them down

Truly the majority don't even realize they're racist. They adamantly believe they're not. They focus their hate on "illegals", "thugs", "welfare queens", etc. When confronted by the fact that these are racist dog whistles they tend to get mad that you'd dare bring race into this and you're the racist. They seem to actually believe that their beliefs transcend race.

It's up to you to decide if you believe they are generally ignorant or wearing a mask. I tend to believe these people are ignorant based on my personal experiences. These people will have non-white "friends" (usually just acquaintances) or even have non-white family members that they do care for. But at the same time they'll celebrate the death of a minority because they were a "thug" that deserved it. The cognitive disodence is amazing.

Truthfully we'll see if these ignorant people are the majority or not shortly. The current administration is emboldening the racists so it's only a matter of time before more go "mask off"

My dream is to get a large piece of farm land and plant a native food forest. Regenerating the land and creating a sustainable food source.

The national forest is doing more controlled burns, but I've never seen it so hazy before in town. It is currently raining ash across the whole city.

I saw a combination of TPD and State Troopers clearing out the very obvious gambling hall on the corner of Lake Bradford and Renfroe Valley St. They had a truck and we're loading up the machines. Couldn't find anything on the news about it yet, but I'll keep an eye out. I'm surprised the police let it operate for as long as they did.

Unrelated but I also saw a city bus had rear ended someone in front of the J. Edwin Larson Building on E. Gaines. No one was hurt, kinda funny

Edit: News article for gambling bust

Does anyone know of any bluesky accounts that feature tallahassee news and communities?

I did a general search, but didn't find much.

Also any other alternative social media options for tallahassee would be cool if you know any.

What is your unconventional prep. Something that you think is uncommon or weird, but will always keep extras of?

Personally I've been really big on keeping canned pumpkin on hand. While it's not the most nutrient dense food around it has the most fiber out of any canned item I can find and adds a new taste to everything. Goes great in mashed potatoes and soup.

Hi everyone this is just a simple welcome post. The community rules are simple, keep it related to Tallahassee and be nice.

So far there are no plans for the community, but suggestions are welcome. I hope to run this page in an open door and welcoming manner.
