Depending on your age there was Roxy, Maid Marion, Gadget, and probably another dozen anthropomorphic cartoon animal women who were friendly, approachable, and generally built as the kind of woman that a shy nerdy kid would like. It's not that surprising that some portion of folks who like computers more than they like people also like anthropomorphized animals better than they like people.
Pine is so soft and the pores are so big that it soaks up everything. For me, pine is for painting.
Agreed.
Theoretically they could still be using it, but it's pretty doubtful. It was just a GUI to run a set of scripts for an old set of programs that should have been retired before XP came out.
I was at an MSP at the time. One of our customers had stuff that wouldn't install on anything after Win98, was looking for a bunch of hardware that no longer exists, and all the associated DLLs had to be registered manually. I created it because I was tired of doing it all by hand.
My assumption would be the guys who were there at the same time as me used it (I know they did actually), but a year after I left the whole bullpen turned over and I doubt they used it after that. They lost a pile of clients. Even if that hadn't happened, if they're still supporting 25 year old software with 15 year old scripts run by a 12 year old and poorly hacked together front end by a guy who was definitely not a programmer at the time (and barely is now) then they get whatever they deserve.
Absolutely not. I left that job not long after. It officially became someone else's problem.
I assume they're not using it anymore. The company was purchased last year so I have to think that they have problems with other code that makes no sense.
#The following code does nothing, but if removed the whole program crashes

I've got Linux installed around the house. I also have a Mac and a couple of Windows machines.
My most recent journey into dual booting my daily driver was a mess. Theoretically everything on the laptop was well supported. But I had to fix a dozen problems and by the end I just couldn't care anymore.
I have had a job in IT or a related field for nearly two decades and have been an enthusiast since before that. But it's not my life and I don't want to spend all my time futzing with config files. I want to play games, make things out of wood, play music, ride motorcycles, hang out with people I like, and generally just live my life. Trying to get an OS running is so far down the list that I can't be bothered to care.
I still use it for a lot of programming and automation tasks as well as steam remote play devices I have set up like consoles. I use my Mac for music production because I already own the software there and I like my workflow. Windows is my "daily driver", but most of what I use it for is Internet and Office (which would be Linux if I hadn't had to fuck with it so much). Honestly, I use my phone more often than anything else so I guess vanilla Android is my daily driver because I haven't booted a computer in two days.
God wouldn't let you get malware on his chosen OS.
Could be thinking of him. Rumors that atheists started trying to disprove something and turning into Christians are good for the church. It's a lie that has been repeatedly told about all kinds of people. It used to be a favorite tactic of certain denominations. Probably still is, but information is way easier to disprove now.
Nah, he's been religious since he was a kid. He even went to college at a Bible institute.
I will be forgotten by the world, but eventually the universe will remember as I'm turned back into star stuff.
As a fat redneck, you're mostly correct. You just forgot to add the word drunk in there somewhere.
Imma fry one up in about half an hour. I'm also gonna start drinking in just a minute. My fat drunk uncle who lost several of his fingers in a fireworks incident is smiling down on me from redneck heaven.
