I've used them plenty but..

They recently got acquired by a turd company and if I remember correctly, already issued a round of layoffs.

Don't recall the details. Check.

I heard they pay artists a lot more. Need to double check.

More specifically Ubuntu LTS, since interim releases are now expectedly beta quality and require upgrades a few months after release. Ubuntu LTS, enable unattended upgrades, register and activate Ubuntu Pro for them and you won't have to touch it for the lifetime of the hardware.

Would be nice if we can collapse "working classes" into a single "working class" in the minds of people but I realize that's probably not realistic from the get to as it requires some discussion to convey and we need short slogans instead.

I think a charitable way to understand the author is to consider they're referring to self-described or socially described centrist and progressive politicians and their policies. And that those aren't actually progressive.

But I think that you're right in that the fact there's such a divergence between what is labeled as progressive and what it actually is, is likely a result of the right wing, neolib propaganda we've been showered with for decades.

I'm trialing it but I'm also thinking of trying Linkwarden to compare.

If you're not using some sort of automatic updates, you're not too seriously trying to make your life as trivial as possible. 😂 Just use fixed major version tags where possible in order to avoid surprise breakage.

Oh no comparison, but many of the people who vote for PP wouldn't vote for Jagmeet or whoever replaces him.

The fairly mature internal component we're working on is v0.0.134.

For anyone who wouldn't spare a click:

The study found the flashing light was far superior on the straight road, allowing detection of the rider from three times the distance of the steady light. This equated to detection 82m sooner, on average.

Also, ooof:

In addition, participants from this study commented that the steady light looked like a motorcyclist from a distance, while the flashing light enabled them to identify the road user as a cyclist sooner.

Are there studies on whether flashing patterns are better for night time visibility than steady? I think flashing patterns at least in part were introduced with the very first battery powered lights because batteries had low capacity and LEDs consumed more power. Steady light on a 2x NiMH lasted just several hours. Things are different these days. Most lights have high density LiIon cells and efficient LEDs making steady operation practical, especially at the rear.

PP would like that, wouldn't he.

But WTF is Jagmeet playing at? The NDP is tied with the LPC at best and trailing them by a few points at worst. They're in the 15-20% territory. And that's without the NDP having a universally unpopular leader. He can't save Canada from an unabashedly corporate government in the face of Poilievre. A government that'll likely kill Jagmeet's signature achievements. Such a move should be the end of his leadership, but more importantly it would be bad for Canadians. I hope he's just posturing and just pushing Trudeau to resign, which he should absolutely do in my opinion.

I got the update notification for Android 15 QPR2 Beta. It said I can now exit the beta without wiping if I opt out of the beta program. I opted out and now I'm seeing this update which says it will wipe data if installed. Should I expect another update to show up instead of this one?

BC Votes 2024 (newsinteractives.cbc.ca)

I see a few ridings where the margin between Con and NDP is razor thin with Green taking a sizable chunk of the vote.

"The move will be a signature element of the government's fall economic statement," a government source said, which will be released on Oct. 30.

Vice President Harris said during an interview with ABC News' "The View" on Tuesday that "there is not a thing that comes to mind" when asked whether she would've done anything differently than President Biden.

Just over half of interviewees (51%) in a Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University study, who identified as "people of faith," responded that they are likely to vote in the presidential election between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. The "people of faith" label is given to those who identify with a recognized religion, such as Christianity, Judaism, Mormonism or Islam.

The study found that approximately 104 million people under the "people of faith" umbrella are not expected to vote this election, including 41 million born-again Christians and 32 million who regularly go to church.

A decent view of Trudeau's thinking on a few popular issues in case you care to know.

Nate is an LPC MP from TO. He was the runner up candidate for OLP's last leadership election.

Researchers have used commercial satellite imagery to identify more than 30 points where Iranian missiles appear to have impacted an air base in southern Israel.

Based on preliminary calculations of what happened at Nevatim, Lewis believes a substantial number of Iranian missiles may have reached their targets.

Lewis notes that although over 30 missiles landed inside the base perimeter, the damage caused was still somewhat limited. That's notable because Iran is believed to have used some of its most advanced Fattah missiles.
