I currently have 90Tb of libraries shared via a Windows server. I've been using Mediasonic hard drive enclosures with 8 or 16Tb drives and Windows/Intel storage spaces for 4 drives for the "Movies" library, 8 drives for the "TV" library, and another 4 drives for "Photos" and other random NAS. I literally only share with family, but, that's still about 12 users across the US due to school. I have a stable 1000/1000Mb fiber connection that has been working perfectly for the past few years. So, my issue now is, I want to host my own Lemmy, Matrix, and NextCloud servers, but they all seem to need a Linux-based server. I've read in the past that Linux Plex servers run into a lot of issues since it was designed to run on Windows. I'm not averse to buying yet another computer, but, before I do that I thought I would seek some advice if I should combine everything into one Linux server, or leave Plex as its own Windows server and put everything else on a new device.

What I have learned to say is "I understand this is new and confusing; however, don't stress out, I was probably more confused than you are when I first learned this." It throws them off a bit, because they think you're the expert, and it clicks that you had to learn it too. If they probe deeper into why it was hard for me, I explain that I'm so used to how things are supposed to work, I have to step back and see how things can work.

I think you forgot a crucial step... Bots steal actual content, then direct other bots to down vote and report said original content, and then direct said bots to upvote the stolen content.

I think only mod specific bots were immune. As idiotic as Reddit has been, it might still be running, but, how will it remind those of us that erased all comments and then deleted our accounts? I have a feeling that wasn't an official bot, so it was probably programed correctly so it won't spam them with replys to deleted accounts 😢

I did the same, I hope they got them.

You will want to tip 15-25%wheb you are dining at a sit down restaurant. If you are at a counter service buisness or café, you should only tip of they went out of their way to make your experience amazing. If you will be staying at hotels, you should tip bellmen $3-$5 per bag, concierge 5-10% of what they have procured for you. Cab's, Ubers, or any car service 10-20% (I usually do a minimum of $5 here.) if you get asked for a tip on any self-service screen, just deny it, that's a cash grab for the business owner. You can offer a tip to any employee you want if they go out of their way for you, however outside the service industry, employers will direct the staff to politely refuse.

I'm guessing they were referring to the defederation issues that came up.

These bushes have been here for about 20 years, this is the best they've ever looked. Granted they get a ton more sun now that wind storms took out most of our trees.

I'm thinking of this as a grieving period. I was on Reddit via Sync for over 10 years multiple times a day. I'm angry, annoyed, and sick over the entire situation, and commiserating with other Reddit orphans is helping me transition to Lemmy. It will slowly die down over the next few months and we'll find something else to direct our rage at. 😉

Wow, it was $29.95 a year. I canceled mine the other day and deleted my accounts today. Fuck Reddit.

Farewell Reddit! (lemmy.fmhy.ml)

I just wiped and deleted all my Reddit accounts. Lemmy is my new online home.

I don't know, I don't think anyone but the child's doctor has a right to ask what gender they are. There is not a single rational reason this random guy had to be speaking to this kid.

Yet again was not arrested at the arraignment. No mugshot, or fingerprinting, and no bail, they sure are treating him unfairly. Can't he just choke on a big mac already so we can be done with this cheeto?

These people are just disgusting. What in the hell does it matter what her gender is? Why not stop being a creep and pay attention to your own child, or stay away from the event if you don't have one?
