I miss having Jamie at UploadVR, quite enjoyed his videos and podcast there.
Missing Quest 3 optimizations? I‘m pretty sure the reason is mostly that it costs twice as much as Q2. Other than costs it’s an improvement in every way.
But I‘d definitely be happy to see Devs make more use of Quest 3‘s performance.
There’s definitely tons of issues surrounding LLMs: how they’re created, what they spit out, and the impact they have. But there’s also use cases that go beyond grammar check imo, but everyone can figure that out for themselves.
I‘ve mostly given up on complaining about "AI" as a description, that’s just what we’re calling it now even though it never made any sense.
There’s exceptions of course, borrowing money to buy a house isn’t same as borrowing money to buy a VR headset, which – lets me honest – everyone can survive without.
I find it much more satisfying to save up the 25 bucks for 20 months and buy it upfront instead of getting it now and robbing my future self of options. Especially since persobal debt seems to be a bit of an issue in general. But by all means, to each their own.
Think of it what you will, compared to crypto there’s actually value that people are getting from LLMs. Even with its current shortcomings.
I really dislike all that "you’ll pay more for it, but not all at once"-stuff. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it.
Although to be fair it is technically "cheaper" if you also buy the warranty and Quest+, neither of which I‘d spend my money on.
I guess, but I really dislike all that "you’ll pay more for it, but not all at once"-stuff. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. All this does is bankrupt people.
PS VR2 was designed from the ground up specifically for PS5 – so you’ll notice that some key features, like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (other than rumble), are not available when playing on PC. However, other high-fidelity and sensory immersion features of PS VR2 are supported, including 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, and see-through view, as well as foveated rendering (without eye tracking) and 3D Audio in supported games.
Adaptive triggers is not surprising I guess, but even the haptic feedback? Eye tracked foveated rendering as well, imo all this combined with the price tag for the adapter makes this not a good option. Only if you already have one and always wanted to try PC VR. And even then I’m not sure if it’s worth the adapter price.
It was working again for me after a few hours, but not being able to play anything at all, including downloaded offline games, was really frustrating.
Not all of these are programming languages btw
Super excited for this. Sadly the Quest release is nowhere to be seen yet, probably going to take until at least next year.
