reddit and youtube really shouting out how much companies don't give two farts about its users. there's so much wholesome and educational content on youtube but, dogs forbid, youtube make $5 fewer in revenue than yesterday πŸ™„ i can't wait for grassroots decentralization of the internet, including video

it's like he's playing "guess who" board game, blaming everyone but himself and making sure everyone gets a shoutout

can you imagine what $2 million dollars could do for people who need things, like housing and clothing and food?! can you imagine what $2 million dollars could do for people who didn't share/sell/keep the secrets of an entire nation? πŸ™ƒ

long live lemmy πŸ’™

lmao i love looking at it from this context. no matter where you fall politically this makes it sound silly that he shouldn't be in trouble πŸ™ƒ

oh look, another web service who wants to strangle its users for money and ad views :D when's a peertube instance going to get some big creators on it supported by viewers? that'll do it, i bet

he pleaded not guilty. and his lawyer said this is "an attack on america".

'cause he had boxes of papers he wasn't supposed to have, that this is an attack on america? yeah, okay πŸ™„

i guess i'm not able to reply to posts that originate from mastodon. it just spins forever :C just wanted to let y'all know that you might run into problems if the comment or post originates from mastodon.

bruh, in the u.s. we still live in a time when people of color are rightly scared to be gunned down during a simple traffic stop and this man can ask for some money after consciously leaking our country's secrets and safeguards. i really hope we can hold him to the law.

nice πŸ‘Œ πŸ’™

looks like subscribing to kbin.social magazines is not working again but any other community i could find on stuff like beehaw.org or lemmy.ml let me subscribe and now i really have a pretty good home feed going :D hope y'all are still enjoying it too! i hope a lot of people stay. imo the internet is too mature for companies to force people away or make ridiculous changes to their entire userbase. decentralized, federated stuff keeps the control to the users :D

for the longest time a lot of images posted to reddit were really posted on imgur (until they started hosting it on their own, too). is there a fediverse'd imgur we should be using to complement lemmy? its docs say it shouldn't be used for large images and videos.

pixelfed seems more like a federated flickr or instagram, not just simple image/album hosting like imgur. thoughts? ty πŸ’™

kbin.social magazine searches weren't working for me here on yiffit for most of yesterday but they seem to be working now :D probably just kbin getting slammed i bet.

i've had good success with this but ofc ymmv. it can be hard to get your windows vm performance tweaking right and it can take a buttload of time. if you want best mitigation of anti-cheat risk and best performance then you should continue to dual boot imo.

"hot" as default? (yiffit.net)

wander, i think you're right and "hot" is a way better home feed choice. should it be set that way for new users? can it even?

these kind of shenanigans make me weary of telsas. there's no way elon's antics are contained only in twitter. he has to be cutting corners and making awful grease-fire decisions there, too.
