Here's the post that made me research everything I could about IEMs for the next several days.

I ended up getting Truthear Hexa - they are said to perform exceptionally well for their price, even accounting for their date of release (IEMs are improving sound quality to price ratio every year). The only two things that I was somewhat wary of are that their nozzle that goes into the ear is bigger than usual and that people were describing them as "boring" and "somewhat lacking bass" (which is not actually a problem when equalizers exist and the user does not use iphones).

After getting the ears somewhat acclimated to wearing IEMs I tried different random tracks. Turns out that the tuning was perfect for me - similar to what I set on over-ear headphones, even (which are bluetooth headsets with ANC, and so have pretty usual tuning). Of course I could hear small details that went unnoticed before, Hexas are great at that.

Then I put on a track that extensively utilised sub-bass. Hexas do NOT lack sub-bass. They also render it good. I both hear and feel the music as it reverberates through my head. I feel the texture. To lesser degree it extends to regular bass, too, and it does not dominate the rest of the frequencies, nor does it lack.

I legit have changed what music I listen to because of this.

The only complaint is about stock eartips. Silicone ones hurt the ears, so I used foam, then got Dunu S&S. Now I almost don't feel that the IEMs are inserted, and they don't break the seal when moving the muscles, it's pure bliss.

I remember seeing some pepe-silvia that these attempts to resign were actually tests to see if the rest of the country (or was it party?) is remaining obedient and to assert his power over everyone else.

(how did this initiative not appear here already)

The students of Russian State University for the Humanities, joined by students of other universities, CPRF members (both regular people and deputies), historians and more, are agitating for renaming the Ivan Ilyin Higher Political School on the basis of Ilyin being a fascist.

Ilyin has been promoted as a "great Russian philosopher" by the state media, and is being defended by that same media, and Dugin, a well-known person with similar views and the director of the Ilyin School.

The poster is taken from the initiative's Telegram channel, it reads "Comrades, a replacement! [we] Will not give Ilyich in exchange for Ilyin!"

Book's last page aged like milk (it was published in 1945)

Moreover, with the defeat of Fascism in Europe, and (it is now safe to assume) completely friendly relations with Great Britain and the U.S.A. established, there will no longer be the pressing military need for devoting all the energies of the country to capital construction. It will be possible to satisfy the great and growing demand for consumers goods by a more rapid raising of the standard of living all round. And to this process there is no visible end.

Wait are the news coming out about it only now? IIRC this was announced back in January.

Anyway, what this means:

  1. Organisations that provided legal support (for example for trans people that applied for gender marker change before the ban but got unjustly denied) cannot exist. There is no one to speak in legalese for us.

  2. Organisations that provided other kinds of support cannot expose themselves.

  3. Display of flags, pins, or other stuff with rainbow/trans flag/etc. on them is "showing support for extremist organisations", repeated offence is punishable by jail time.

  4. I, and everyone I know, have abandoned all hope for this place.

Edit: I kinda want to write stuff about what I have ingested from the environment in Russia (movies, TV, and other government-controlled outlets), but for it to happen I need to feel safe in doing it.

Edit 2: wikipedia page for LGBT rights in Russia. So the decision was made in 30 Nov. 2023, and IIRC it became active early January 2024.

In Russia, being trans without gender marker in the documents changed and watching news about Argentina is terrifying. While the Ukraine does not currently prohibit getting F64.0, it may do that very quickly, using the "they are doing this to dodge the draft" rhetoric.

I am afraid that some of my friends (or, in the worst case, everyone) won't be able to get out.
